Another day of no major upsets at the US Open as the seeds continued to completely dominate the draw. Novak Djokovic and Nikolai Davydenko the two highest men's seeds in action today, raced through their matches comfortably to post straight sets wins and advance to round 2. Djokovic beat French veteran Arnaud Clement 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 while
Davydenko made quick work of Dudi Sela of Israel 6-3, 6-3, 6-3.

No.8 seed Andy Roddick overpowered another French stalwart Fabrice Santoro 6-2, 6-2, 6-2 to also book a place in Round 2.

Top Seeds Sail Through

Four time champion Federer, seeded 2nd in a Grand Slam after eons, made light work of Maximo Gonzalez of Argentina, easily winning 6-3, 6-0, 6-3. Also advancing as per the form book in the Men's draw were Ivo Karlovic, Tommy Robredo, Igor Andreev, Olympic silver medalist Fernando Gonzalez, Andreas Sippi, Paul-Henri Mathieu and Fernando Verdasco.

There were however two upsets as the 22nd seed Tomas Berdych was annihilated by 20-year- old giant Sam Querrey (he's 6'6") in under an hour and a half 6-3, 6-1, 6-2. Also on the flight home was talented Frenchman Richa
