Lewis smashes 9 sixes as West Indies beat Pakistan in third T20 International

Evin Lewis' scored a brilliant 91 as West Indies defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in the third Twenty20 International (T20I) at Queen's Park Oval. With the West Indies chasing 138, Lewis slammed nine sixes and five boundaries to take the hosts past the target in barely 14.5 overs on Saturday.

Lewis' assault on the bowling was in stark contrast to the struggles of most of the Pakistani batsmen, with the exception of Kamran Akmal and Babar Azam, as Pakistan collapsed from a solid 92 for 2 in 12 overs to a meagre 137 - adding only 45 runs in the last eight overs and losing six more wickets.

West Indies, Afghanistan to meet in T20Is, ODIs in June

The West Indies Cricket Board announced today that Afghanistan will play three Twenty20 and three One-day Internationals on its tour of the Caribbean in May/June this year.

It will be the first time that the Afghans will be playing West Indies in a series on Caribbean soil, although it’s not the first time the team will be playing here.

Pakistan crush West Indies by 6 wickets in 1st T20

The West Indies suffered a six-wicket defeat against Pakistan in the first Twenty20 International at Kensington Oval yesterday. The West Indies, sent in to bat, were restricted to 111 for eight from their allocation of 20 overs.

Carlos Brathwaite, the captain, hit an unbeaten 34 from 27 balls to lead the way, after the Windies were wobbling on 49 for six and was the only batsman to reach 20. The home team’s batting was undone by debutant, 18-year-old, leg-spinner Shadab Khan with a memorable spell of 3-7 from four overs.

West Indies T20 squad announced to take on Pakistan

The Selection Panel of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has announced a 16-man squad for the Four Twenty20 Internationals for the upcoming West Indies versus Pakistan series in the Caribbean.

The series opens in Barbados, where the first Twenty20 will be played at the Kensington Oval on Sunday, March 26; then the squads move over to Trinidad and Tobago for three additional Twenty20 matches. Those matches are scheduled for Thursday, March 30, Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2 respectively, at the Queen’s Park Oval.

Nabi, Shahzad power Afghanistan past Ireland in Third T20I

Afghanistan completed a clean sweep against Ireland, winning their third and final Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket match by 28 runs on Sunday.

A blistering knock of 89 by Mohammad Nabi and a quickfire 72 by Mohammad Shahzad in the lower order helped Afghanistan post 233/8 in 20 overs. For Ireland, Kevin O'Brien scalped 4-45 runs while Jacob Mulder took 2-32.

Afghanistan vs Ireland: T20 International Preview

Afghanistan will look to continue their winning spree when they take on Ireland in the third and final Twenty20 International (T20I) on Sunday. Ireland, who was outplayed by Afghanistan in the last two games will be looking to make amends across departments to win the last match of the series.

The second match, which was affected by rain, saw Najeeb Tarakai's 58-ball 90, including seven fours and five sixes, to post an imposing 184/8 in 20 overs which proved too much for Ireland, who fell 17 runs short on Duckworth-Lewis (DLS) method in the chase.

Pakistan Tour to West Indies extended by two T20Is

The West Indies Cricket Board has announced the addition of two Twenty20 Internationals to the itinerary for the Pakistan Tour of the West Indies. As a consequence of the additional matches, the series between World Twenty20 champions West Indies and the visiting Pakistanis will now be contested over four matches.

“Twenty20 is an exciting format and this is another opportunity for our fans to indulge in the thrilling atmosphere that surrounds these matches,” said Roland Holder, WICB manager, cricket operations.
