Mfoza, Erwee lead KZN Inland to Africa T20 Cup Final

Rookie Nduduzo Mfoza led strong bowling performance that was backed up by an unbeaten half-century by Sarel Erwee as Hollywoodbets KwaZulu-Natal Inland reached the Africa T20 Cup final with a thumping eight-wicket win over Gauteng in Kimberley on Sunday.

Slow left-armer Mfoza first claimed three for 23 in an outstanding four overs to help restrict the opposition to 110 for eight, before the in-form Erwee bashed 67 off 51 balls (7 fours, 3 sixes) as the Pietermaritzburg side coasted to victory with 32 balls remaining. 


Africa T20 Cup semi-final Preview: Gauteng, KZN Inland ready for mega clash

Gauteng coach Sandile Masengemi believes his team has the character required to win the Africa T20 Cup as they prepare for the finals weekend at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley on Sunday and Monday.

The Johannesburg side play Hollywoodbets KwaZulu-Natal Inland in the first-semi-final on Heritage Day, with the winner to play against either Namibia or Klopper Expert Free State, who meet in the second semi, for the 2017 title.

After a superb 7-wicket win against hosts Sri Lanka they take the prestigous Red Bull Campus World Champions title back to South African shores largely thanks to a superb bowling display that restricted Sri Lanka to 121 all out after 18.4 overs. Julian Soutter’s 3/16 and Dyllan Matthews 3/22 were crucial in keeping Sri Lanka to a low score. Soutter was named man of the match for his accurate bowling, while Matthews ended the tournament as top wicket-taker.


ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Africa Qualifier: Uganda score sensational victory over Zimbabwe

Uganda scored a sensational three-wicket victory over Zimbabwe to win the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20, Africa Qualifier in Windhoek on Saturday afternoon. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Zimbabwe scored 99/7, while Uganda reached the winning target with seven wickets down and three balls to spare.

Zimbabwe lost Modester Mupachikwa early on for 3, but Ashley Ndiraya and Chipo Mugeri got their innings back on track with a 61-run partnership.


ICC Women’s World T20 Africa Qualifier: Uganda beat Kenya in thriller

Uganda beat Kenya by five wickets with one ball to spare in a thrilling playoff match at the 2018 ICC Women’s World T20, Africa  Qualifier in Windhoek on Friday.

Kenya posted 89/5 off their 20 overs and in a dramatic finish, Immaculate Nakisuuyi hit a four off the second last ball to clinch a dramatic win for Uganda, who will now meet Zimbabwe in the final on Saturday.


Zimbabwe finish top of the log at 2018 ICC Women’s World T20, Africa Qualifier

Zimbabwe topped the log at the end of the group stage of the 2018 ICC Women’s World T20, Africa Qualifier on Wednesday after a comfortable 59-run victory over Uganda.

Zimbabwe now automatically progress to Saturday’s final where they will meet the winner between second-placed Uganda and third-placed Kenya.
