Czech international Jiri Pavlenk to join Werder Bremen

Czech professional football club Slavia Prague and Bundesliga club Werder Bremen have agreed on the transfer of goalkeeper Jiri Pavlenk.

Both clubs confirmed the agreement on Tuesday. Bremen reinforced their team with the signing of the Czech international, who will join the German top division club after passing the medical at the end of the week.


Palmeiras lining up move for Brazilian international Diego Souza

Brazil international midfielder Diego Souza is close to joining reigning Brazilian Serie A champions Palmeiras from Sport Recife, according to media reports.

Palmeiras are willing to meet Sport Recife's asking price of 13 million Brazilian reais (around $3.5 million) for the 32-year-old, the Gazeta Esportiva news portal said.


Torino sign PSG keeper Salvatore Sirigu

Italian goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu has moved from French top division outfit Paris Saint-Germain to Italian football club Torino on a three-year contract and is expected to take up the No.1 goalkeeper position for the Serie A team.

Sirigu, who won four Ligue 1 titles with PSG, made the move on Tuesday. He was earlier loaned to Spanish clubs Sevilla and Osasuna last season. More playing time would undoubtedly become his priority with the 2018 World Cup to be held in Russia in around a year's time.


Romanian midfielder Alexandru Maxim joins FC Mainz 05

German football club FC Mainz 05 have signed attacking midfielder Alexandru Maxim from newly promoted top division rivals VFB Stuttgart.

Both Bundesliga clubs made the announcement on Tuesday. Mainz strengthened their forwardline with the transfer of the Romania international, who has signed a four-year deal until June 2021.


Florentino Perez finally reacts to Ronaldo rumours

There is "no reason to get too concerned" about Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Real Madrid, the Spanish football club president Florentino Perez said, adding that it may be too soon to make a bid for French club Monaco's wonder kid Kylian Mbappe.

"Cristiano has a contract with Madrid," Perez was quoted as saying by Spanish radio El Primer Palo.

Premier League Champions Chelsea have confirmed the sale of striker Bertrand Traore to Olympique Lyon for 10 million euros ($11.3 million). Traore, 21, has signed a contract for the next five seasons. He played the last year on loan at Ajax in Amsterdam, scoring nine goals in 24 games in the Eredivisie.

The Burkina Faso international came to Chelsea in 2014 and in his 16 appearances with the Blues he scored four goals, including three in three consecutive matches in 2016.


Real Sociedad sign versatile defender Diego Llorente

Spanish football club Real Sociedad has confirmed the signing of Real Madrid defender Diego Llorente on a five-year deal. The move means that the 23-year-old, who can also play in midfield, will be at the San Sebastian-based club until the end of 2022.

Llorente joined Real Sociedad after spending last season on loan at Malaga and the previous campaign at Rayo Vallecano impressing at both clubs.
