Southampton sign former Barcelona defender Caceres

English football club Southampton has announced the signing of Uruguayan defender Martín Cáceres on a free transfer until the end of the season.

Cáceres, a Uruguayan international with 68 caps to his name, joins Saints after leaving Serie A giants Juventus at the end of the 2015/16 campaign," Southampton posted on their website on Thursday.


Harry Winks extends Tottenham contract till 2022

English football club Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday renewed the contract of young Harry Winks until 2022.

The 21-year-old English midfielder has played 25 games with Tottenham in all competitions this season, including two matches in the group stage of the Champions League.


Thomas Partey extends contract with Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid on Tuesday announced the renewal of the contract of Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey for three more years, keeping him committed to the capital football club until the 2021-22 season.

According to the club's official website, Partey was excited about the renewal saying: "I'm very happy. I want to continue growing in Atleti."


Barcelona plot move for Brazilian defender

Brazilian defender Michel Macedo has been reportedly shortlisted by Barcelona to replace injured right-back Aleix Vidal.

According to the ESPN Brazil news outlet, Barcelona coach Luis Enrique is keen to draft a player into Barcelona's squad to fill the void left by Vidal. Among those at the top of his wish-list is Macedo, who has impressed with Las Palmas this season after joining the Canary Islands club from Almeria.


Sao Paulo sign Argentine striker Lucas Pratto

Brazilian football club Sao Paulo has signed Argentina striker Lucas Pratto from Atletico Mineiro in a four-year deal. The 28-year-old will be officially presented to the club's fans on Sunday after Sao Paulo on Friday agreed to pay Mineiro an undisclosed transfer fee.

"We now have one of the best forwards on the continent, an Argentina international and possibly an important player in the next World Cup," Sao Paulo president Carlos Silva said.


Hebei China Fortune sign Juventus veteran Hernanes

Italian football champions Juventus have confirmed Brazilian midfielder Hernanes' move to Hebei China Fortune FC for a fee of eight million euro ($8.5 million).

"Hernanes arrived as valuable cover for the Bianconeri's central midfield in August 2015 and departed as a domestic-double winner, having picked up his second Coppa Italia crown and first ever Serie A title in the just concluded season," Juventus said on their website on Thursday.

Juventus also said that the selling price may increase by two million euro ($2.1 million) on achieving given conditions over the course of the contract.

Athletic Bilbao renews Yeray Alvarez contract until 2022

Athletic Bilbao renewed the contract of defender Yeray Alvarez until June 2022, adding a buy-out clause of 30 million euros ($32 million), the club announced on Thursday.

Alvarez began his career in the youth team of Athletic Bilbao and was promoted this season to the first team, earning a regular place in the starting line-up as a centre-back, next to Aymeric Laporte,reports Efe.
