Talented Arsenal midfielder shipped out on loan

The loan moves continue to come for Arsenal players late in the January transfer window, with 20 year old midfielder Gedion Zelalem the latest to head out on loan for the rest of the season.

Once touted as the next big thing at Arsenal, Zelalem has failed to live up to his potential in recent years, and was expected to leave the club permanently this month after having fallen down the pecking order amongst Arsenal's back-up players so much so that he was even ignored in the midst of a midfield crisis for the Gunners' clash with Southampton in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Mourinho provides transfer window update on Rooney, Young and possible new joinees

Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed at his press conference today that Club Captain Wayne Rooney and veteran winger turned full back Ashley Young will not be leaving the club in the January transfer window.

Mourinho, speaking ahead of United's match against Hull City tomorrow, said about Young, "He stays - he is selected for tomorrow (v Hull City). He stays with me until the end of the season."

Jonathan Biabiany turns down Chelsea move

Inter Milan winger Jonathan Biabiany, a shock transfer target for London giants Chelsea, has rejected the opportunity to join the Blues on loan till the end of the season, despite struggling to land game time for the Italian side.

28 year old Biabiany, a French international during his prime, has struggled since moving from Parma to Inter Milan, where after a decent first season, has struggled to break back into the first team.

Brighton take Arsenal striker Akpom on loan

Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom, who has missed the better part of the 2016-17 season due to injury, will attempt to regain form and fitness away to Championship club Brighton and Hove Albion over the second half of the season, joining the side on loan.

Brighton Manager Chris Hughton was excited to welcome Akpom to the Championship leaders, telling the club's website, "As soon as we allowed Elvis Manu to go out on loan we knew we wanted to add to the forward area, so we are delighted to bring in someone of Chuba's calibre.

Genk take Valencia keeper Mathew Ryan on loan

Belgian side Genk has announced the signing of goalkeeper Mathew Ryan on loan from Valencia, until the end of the season and with a purchase option.

Ryan did not train on Sunday under Valencia coach Salvador Gonzalez 'Voro' and travelled to Belgium to finalise the deal with Genk, reports Efe.

Crystal Palace sign former Chelsea defender

English football club Crystal Palace has announced the official signing of Dutch left-back Patrick van Aanholt from Sunderland on a four and a half year deal. The Dutch international joined the English club for $17.4 million and could make his debut with his new team in Tuesday's English Premier League (EPL) game against Bournemouth.

According to Crystal Palace's website, coach Sam Allardyce said "I am delighted that Patrick has joined us. We had great success together at Sunderland where he was instrumental in keeping them in the Premier League last season."

West Ham target Fabregas as Payet replacement

West Ham are believed to have made a late attempt to land Chelsea playmaker Cesc Fabregas as a replacement for Dmitri Payet, who ended his month long dispute with the Hammers to re-join former club Olympic Marseille.

Fabregas, a former star at Arsenal and Barcelona, has spent the better part of this season warming the bench at Chelsea after failing to regularly feature in Manager Antonio Conte's first choice eleven.
