Bayern Munich plot summer move for top Man United target

Bayern Munich chief coach Carlo Ancelotti reportedly wants to sign Real Madrid's Colombian forward James Rodriguez, who is struggling for playing time at the capital club.

James starred in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and soon joined the Madrid giants who were then coached by Italian Ancelotti. While James had a fruitful maiden season, he has since fallen down the pecking order under current Madrid chief coach Zinedine Zidane, including this season.

Man City and Manchester United target inks new deal with Barcelona

After their historic qualification for the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Spanish football giants FC Barcelona confirmed that Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic has extended his contract with the club until the end of June 2021.

The Croatian arrived at Barca from Sevilla in the summer of 2014 aged 26 and had been a key part of the side in the past three years.

Gremio sign Argentine forward Gaston Fernandez

Brazilian Serie A football club Gremio have signed veteran Argentine forward Gaston Fernandez as they bolster their squad for this year's Copa Libertadores. The 33-year-old signed a two-year deal after leaving Universidad de Chile for an undisclosed transfer fee, Xinhua news service quoted Gremio's official website as saying on Saturday. The contract includes an option of a third year.

Fernandez scored seven goals in 19 matches for Universidad de Chile after joining the Santiago-based club from Estudiantes.

Pep Guardiola reacts to Aguero exit rumours

Manchester City chief coach Pep Guardiola has insisted that Argentina striker Sergio Aguero will stay at the football club.

"I spoke ten times about this, you know my opinion. I cannot answer at every press conference about Aguero, He is so happy, so are we," said Gaurdiola at a press conference on Friday ahead of Sunday's English Premier League (EPL) match against bottom side Sunderland.

Kevin Grosskreutz released by Vfb Stuttgart after nightclub incident

Bundesliga football club Vfb Stuttgart rescinded on Friday the contract of defender Kevin Grosskreutz after he was involved in a fight on Tuesday after leaving a nightclub and had to be treated in a hospital.

The club, in a press release, said it is pleased that Grosskreutz has not suffered serious injuries but came to the conclusion that it could not ignore what had happened.

Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho confirmed on Friday that he has English striker Wayne Rooney in his plans for the next football season.

Rooney, the top scorer in the history of Manchester United, has been linked in recent reports to Everton, the club at which he began his career, and several teams in the Chinese Super League. However, Mourinho, who since his arrival at the club has relegated Rooney to the bench, has made it clear that he wants the 31-year-old striker to continue at the club next season.
