Legendary Manchester United outcast heading to MLS club Chicago Fire

Manchester United on Tuesday announced that out-of-favour veteran German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger will join Major League Soccer (MLS) club Chicago Fire.

The 2014 World Cup winner has been frozen out by head coach Jose Mourinho, who does not see the former Bayern Munich star in his plans. The 32-year-old, bogged down by multiple injuries, is considered as a player who is past his prime and has featured in only four games this season.

Stoke poised to make Martins Indi transfer permanent

Stoke City coach Mark Hughes has confirmed that the English football club has reached an agreement with Porto to sign Dutch defender Bruno Martins Indi.

Martins Indi, 25, is on loan at Stoke from the Portuguese club this season, having played 27 matches in all competitions.

English football giants Manchester United have reportedly shown interest in signing Monaco duo of Kylian Mbappe and Tiemoue Bakayoko.

The Red Devils had chief scout Marcel Bout in the stands when Mbappe and Bakayoko scored for the French Ligue 1 side against Manchester City in a Champions League round of 16 second leg tie on Wednesday, according to espnfc sources.

Bayern Munich react to Kimmich exit rumours

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummingge has said that Joshua Kimmich, a reported transfer target of Manchester City, will be Philipp Lahm's successor as the Bavarian football club's right-back, although he has not earned many minutes so far this season.

Lahm will conclude his career at Bayern by the end of this season, just like Xabi Alonso who announced his retirement recently, while Kimmich; a multi-functional player, can play both in midfield or as a right-back.

Sao Paulo sign Chinese teenager Zhang on loan

Sao Paulo have signed highly rated Chinese teenager Zhang Yuanshu on loan, the Brazilian club said. Apart from him, two other Shandong Luneng players - Yu Ming Zeng and Duan Liuyu - are also in Desportivo's squad, the Brazilian club said on Monday, reports Xinhua news agency.

Zhang impressed Sao Paulo scouts while playing for Desportivo Brasil in the second division of the Sao Paulo state league and the Sao Paulo Cup.

ACF Fiorentina have rubbished a media report that the Serie A football club has agreed to sell young playmaker Federico Bernardeschi to Inter Milan in the summer.

A report by Il Messaggero editor Massimo Caputi on Saturday claimed that "the deal will go through" and Inter will pay Fiorentina around 40 million euro (about $42 million) to rope in 23-year-old Bernardeschi, an academy product of the Florence-based Serie A outfit.

Bayern Munich chief coach Carlo Ancelotti reportedly wants to sign Real Madrid's Colombian forward James Rodriguez, who is struggling for playing time at the capital club.

James starred in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and soon joined the Madrid giants who were then coached by Italian Ancelotti. While James had a fruitful maiden season, he has since fallen down the pecking order under current Madrid chief coach Zinedine Zidane, including this season.
