Arsenal break transfer record to sign French forward

French forward Alexandre Lacazette set up a club record transfer fee of English Premier League football side Arsenal with a move from Ligue 1 outfit Lyon.

Arsenal on Wednesday announced that Lacazette has agreed to join on a long-term contract without specifying the fee. But according to a press release from Lyon, Lacazette's transfer fee could reach as much as 60 million euros ($68.2 million), including a seven-million ($7.95) incentive. The club's previous record of 50 million euros ($56.28 million) was paid to Real Madrid for Mesut Ozil in 2013.

Casillas commits one more season to Porto

Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas on Thursday confirmed he will stay at Portuguese side Porto for one more season.

Many have speculated about the future of the former Real Madrid goalkeeper and linked him with a move to France or England. However, the 2010 World Cup winner Casillas said via Facebook that he was happy to stay for one more season at Porto, which ended the last campaign second to champions Benfica.

Casillas joined Porto in 2015 after 16 years at Madrid, with a two-season contract and an option that enables the Euro 2008, 2012 champion to extend it for one more season if he plays in 70 matches, which he achieved on February 17.

Real Betis takes Jordi Amat on loan from Swansea City

Real Betis and Swansea City reached an agreement on Wednesday to loan defender Jordi Amat to the Spanish team for one season. According to sources, the Spaniard, 25, is set to arrive in the next few hours in Seville to formalise his contract.

Amat, under contract with Swansea until June 2019, has spent the last four seasons with the Welsh team, where he has played 72 official matches, 17 of them in the last edition of the Premier League.

Formed in the youth teams of Espanyol, Amat debuted with the club's first team in the 2009-10 season and then left to Rayo Vallecano in 2012 before, a year later, making the leap to the English Premier League.

FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi will stay with the club until 2021, the Calatan giants said in a statement on Wednesday.

"Barcelona and Leo Messi have agreed on a contract renewal that will keep the Argentinian at the Club until June 30th, 2021," the team said in a statement on its official website.

Brazil Under-20 football team striker Felipe Vizeu could leave Flamengo for Sporting Lisbon during the European summer transfer window.
