The Business of SportsYani Tseng, a global superstar and the fifth-ranked player in the world in women’s golf, signed with IMG, the world’s leading sports, fashion and media company, for management and marketing representation it was announced today. Tseng was ranked first in the world for 109 weeks from 2011 to 2013.
The 24-year old Tseng, a native of Taiwan, is the youngest player, male or female, to win five major championships. Tseng, who turned professional in 2007 at the age of 18, has 26 professional wins to her credit, including major victories at the Kraft Nabisco Championship (2010), the LPGA Championship (2008, 2011) and the Ricoh Women’s British Open (2010, 2011). At age 19 she was the youngest player to win the LPGA Championship and the second youngest player to win an LPGA major. In 2009, she became the fastest player in LPGA Tour history to reach the $2 Million mark in career earnings.
