Yani Tseng signs with IMG

Yani Tseng, a global superstar and the fifth-ranked player in the world in women’s golf, signed with IMG, the world’s leading sports, fashion and media company, for management and marketing representation it was announced today. Tseng was ranked first in the world for 109 weeks from 2011 to 2013.

The 24-year old Tseng, a native of Taiwan, is the youngest player, male or female, to win five major championships. Tseng, who turned professional in  2007 at the age of 18, has 26 professional wins to her credit, including major victories at the Kraft Nabisco Championship (2010), the LPGA Championship (2008, 2011) and the Ricoh Women’s British Open (2010, 2011). At age 19 she was the youngest player to win the LPGA Championship and the second youngest player to win an LPGA major. In 2009, she became the fastest player in LPGA Tour history to reach the $2 Million mark in career earnings.

Paul Shaw appointed as Head of England Women's Performance

Paul Shaw has been appointed to the new role of Head of England Women’s Performance. Shaw was the ECB Women’s and Girls’ High Performance Manager and former England Women’s Academy Head Coach and his recruitment follows the announcement that Mark Lane, the England Women’s Head Coach, would be standing down after five years of unprecedented success.

The new role replaces that of the England Women’s Head Coach.

Chean Roux joins Springbok Team Management

Former Varsity Cup-winning Maties head coach and a current member of SARU’s High Performance Mobi-unit, Chean Roux, has been added to the Springbok Team Management in the role of Performance Analyst. Roux, who in his playing days represented the DHL Stormers, Western Province, Eastern Province and the Boland Cavaliers, joined the Springboks in Durban where they are preparing for Saturday’s opening Test of the Castle Lager Incoming Series against Italy at Growthpoint Kings Park.

Roux will oversee the the Springboks’ match analysis, the measuring of performances on the training field, as well as establishing contact with referees in the build-up to all Test matches, in conjunction with Andre Watson (SARU GM: Referees) and Rassie Erasmus (SARU GM: High Performance).

David Collier welcomes Sport England funding boost for grassroots cricket

ECB Chief Executive David Collier today welcomed Sport England’s announcement of a 50 per cent increase in its Protecting Playing Fields Olympic and Paralympic Legacy Fund as a major boost for grassroots cricket.

More than a third of the 75 awards made in the latest round of funding from the Legacy Fund will go to projects involving cricket.
