Injury forces Cherry to miss Houston Sevens, Sadler comes in

A training injury to Qantas Women’s Sevens stand-in captain Emilee Cherry has forced a change in the line-up to play in Houston for the second round of the IRB Women’s Sevens World Series.

Cherry has been ruled out as a precautionary measure and will be replaced by South Australia’s d’Arcy Sadler.

Qantas Women’s Sevens team named for Houston

Qantas Women’s Sevens coach, Chris Lane, has named his squad for the second round of the IRB Women’s Sevens World Series in Houston, with just three changes to the side which last competed in Dubai.

Lane believes the relatively consistent lineup will help his side improve on their fourth place finish in Dubai, which was the opening round of the inaugural IRB Women’s Sevens World Series season.

South African Women change two for Houston Sevens

The South African Women’s Sevens team shows two changes to the squad of 12 players for Round 2 of the Women’s Sevens World Series, which takes place in Houston, Texas in the United States on 1-2 February.

Last month, the SA Women’s team finished as runners-up to New Zealand, who won the inaugural Women’s Series tournament in Dubai.

Stephen Moore & Ben Alexander re-commit to Australian Rugby

Experienced Qantas Wallabies front-rowers Stephen Moore and Ben Alexander have provided Australian Rugby with a major boost ahead of a pivotal 2013 season by announcing they will continue to ply their trade in the country until at least 2015.

The pair, who are both Canberra-based with the Brumbies, have extended their current deals for a further two years, taking them through until the conclusion of the next Rugby World Cup in England.

Blitzbokke change three for Wellington, Las Vegas

Injuries to several key players have forced Springbok Sevens coach Paul Treu to make three changes to his squad for the forthcoming HSBC Sevens World Series tournaments in New Zealand and the USA.

The Wellington Sevens tournament takes place on 1-2 February in the New Zealand capital and will be followed by the Las Vegas event a week later.
