Chang responds to Agassi's claims of tanking matches

michael_chang_1.jpg1989 French Open Champion Michael Chang spent sometime answering journalists queries on Wednesday ahead of his January trip to Hong Kong to play in an exhibition event featuring fellow greats like Stefan Edberg coupled with modern superstars of the pedigree of Maria Sharapova and Venus Williams.  Chang fended queries from playing mixed doubles with the ladies to Andre Agassi's comments about their 1996 Australian Open semi-final in this interesting tete-a-tete.

How do you feel about playing in Hong Kong again in January?
Michael : I am really excited about it. Obviously every opportunity I get to return to Hong Kong is very exciting for me. I haven't played there for some time


Sampras: Against Andre it is like a Heavyweight fight


Two legends of the tennis world Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi will renew their rivalry at the CotaiArena at The Venetian Macao Tennis Showdown 2009 this coming Sunday.

Sampras and Agassi will feature at opposite ends of the tennis court for the first time since their historic battle in the final of the 2002 US Open, a match that clinched a then world record 14th Grand Slam title for Sampras.

Sampras took some time out today to look ahead to hit visit to Macao and what it means for him to step on to a court again with his greatest ever rival...

Bhambri & Harrison look ahead to playing with Sampras and Agassi


World Junior no.1 Yuki Bhambri and America's top ranked junior Ryan Harrison will play in in a doubles match with Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi as part of the third edition of Venetian Macao Tennis Showdown on Sunday the 25th of October.

In a special event featuring three matches on the day, a 45-minute timed singles match between the two juniors will be followed by Sampras and Agassi renewing their famous

rivalry in a one-on-one singles encounter. That contest will be followed by a special dream doubles match where Ryan and Yuki get to team up with either Pete or Andre.

Sampras, a 14-time Grand Slam champion takes a 20-14 record against Agassi into their exhibition match next Sunday. Agassi, an 8-time Slam champion and an Olympic Gold medallist shared his perspective on the contest, life after retirement, the work he is doing with his foundation and the next crop of young talent that has taken the tennis world by storm in this interview:

Pat Cash is gearing up his grass-court game on the lawns of Great Britain in anticipation of his title defense at this month's $150,000 Hall of Fame Champions Cup in Newport, R.I.
