Duminy expects another competitive showdown in ODI Series

Proteas all-rounder, JP Duminy, anticipates another highly competitive series against India in the upcoming six-match One-Day International (ODI) series starting at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead on Thursday. There isn’t much that separates the two teams on the ICC ODI rankings – South Africa leads India by one point at the top of the table – and the intensely contested Sunfoil Freedom Series has given a sample of what to expect in the limited-overs formats.

Duminy has been in sparking form for the World Sports Betting Cape Cobras in the Momentum One-Day Cup, and has been instrumental in leading the team to a home semi-final tomorrow - scoring 416 runs at an average of 52.  The all-rounder says he is relishing the opportunity to transfer the form into the upcoming series, which he believes will be ‘ closely fought’.

De Villiers ruled out of first three ODIs with finger injury

Proteas batsman, AB de Villiers, has been ruled out of the first three Momentum One-Day Internationals (ODI) against India due to a finger injury.  De Villiers sustained the injury to his right index finger during the third Sunfoil Test match against India and will require up to two weeks to make a full recovery.

The CSA medical team is hopeful De Villiers will recover in time for the fourth ‘Pink’ ODI at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium on Saturday, February 10th . The selectors have opted not to name a replacement.

Cameron White called up for ODI Series against England

The Australian National Selection Panel has chosen Victoria and Melbourne Renegades batsman Cameron White as Chris Lynn’s replacement for the Gillette One-Day International Series against England.

The right-hander has been in outstanding limited-overs form with 285 runs at an average of 142.5 and a strike-rate of 115.85 for the Renegades in this summer’s KFC Big Bash League.

Australia's Chris Lynn ruled out of ODI Series against England

Australian batsman Chris Lynn has been ruled out of the Gillette One-Day International Series against England with a calf injury. Lynn suffered the injury to his right calf fielding in the Brisbane Heat’s KFC Big Bash League match against the Perth Scorchers at The Gabba on 5 January.

It is expected the injury will sideline him for three to four weeks, with the earliest return to play likely to be the Heat’s KFC BBL match against The Melbourne Renegades at The Gabba on 27 January.

Mavuta, Murray in Zimbabwe squad for Bangladesh tri-series

Zimbabwe have included the uncapped duo of Brandon Mavuta and Ryan Murray in their squad for the triangular series in Bangladesh, involving the hosts and Sri Lanka.

Apart from the two former Zimbabwe Under-19 stars, Blessing Muzarabani – who made his Test debut for Zimbabwe against South Africa on Boxing Day – is also in line to get his first one-day international cap after he was included in the 15-man squad.
