Dodd takes silver in double mini-trampoline

Gavin Dodd of Kamloops, BC continued his winning ways at the FIG World Age Group Competitions on Sunday, this year walking away with a silver medal in the boy’s 13-14 double mini-trampoline competition. Dodd was the gold medallist at the 2015 competition in the boy’s 11-12 age group.

ISL Match 4: Bengaluru FC cruise past Mumbai City FC 2-0 on ISL debut

Bengaluru FC fans turned up in record numbers to witness the kick-start of their Hero Indian Super League (ISL) history with a confident win over Mumbai City FC at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday. Such was Bengaluru’s attacking prowess that a 2-0 scoreline flattered the visitors as 17,796 fans bounced in the stands to start a new era for the former Hero I-League club.

ISL Match 3: FC Goa hold off Chennaiyin FC fightback for 3-2 win

An enthralling first half display from FC Goa saw them edge familiar rivals Chennaiyin FC in a tight contest at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. Ferran ‘Coro’ Corominas became the first goal scorer of the fourth ISL season with his 25th minute strike. Manuel Lanzarote lobbed in an exquisite goal to double the lead three minutes later while Mandar Rao Dessai became the first Indian goal scorer of the tournament, smashing home from close range in the 40th minute. Chennai came off the blocks quickly in the second half and got a goal after Laxmikant Kattimani’s error from Inigo Calderon’s free-kick. An 83rd minute penalty from Raphael Augusto ensured an exciting finish to the contest as the Gaurs became the first team to win this season.

Canada’s Alex Gough slid into the Olympic year with a solid fourth-place finish at the Luge World Cup opener in Igls, Austria on Saturday. The 30-year-old Calgarian had the fourth-fastest starts to begin each of her two trips down the 10-corner track where she clocked a two-run time of 1:20.705.
