Dagar, Mahant and Sagoo tied for the lead at Usha Ladies Open

The seventh edition of Usha Ladies Open amateur golf championship kicked off in style with three golfers sharing the top spot after a tight first round in Category A at the Delhi Golf Club (DGC) here on Tuesday.

Diksha Dagar, Arshia Mahant and Sifat Sagoo all carded two-over 74 in the category that features golfers with a 14-handicap and below.

Local favourite Aditi Ashok takes over the lead at Women's Indian Open

Indian golfing sensation Aditi Ashok carded 3 under 69 on the second day to grab the sole lead in the Women’s Indian Open at the DLF Golf and Country Club here on Saturday. In the process, she became the first Indian to lead the field going into the final round of the championship. Defending champion Emily Pedersen, Christine Wolf and Belen Mozo are tied for the second position with identical totals of 143, two behind Aditi.  The US $ 400,000 event will culminate tomorrow and the home crowd will be rooting for Aditi to become the first Indian to win a Ladies European Tour event.

Aditi, who started her day in tied ninth position, had an indifferent front nine. She carded a birdie on the 2nd hole, however, a dropped shot on the 6th and miss-hit into the water on the 9th which resulted in a double bogey added to her woes. But the 18 year old rookie was unfazed by the initial setbacks and fired five birdies in her back nine to finish with a total score of 141 after the second round. She was tied for the second position after the 17th hole, still needing a birdie on the final hole to take the lead.

Aditi Ashok leads Indian contingent at Women's Indian Open

Rising star Aditi Ashok finished best among the Indians with a score of level par 72 to be tied ninth after the first round of the Hero womens Indian open at the DLF Golf and Country Club on Friday.

Aditi struggled with the back nine but three straight birdies on the sixth, seventh and eighth holes helped her finish two shots adrift of the leader group.

105 Women Amateurs head to Delhi Golf Club

As many as 105 Indian amateur golfers will be participating in the seventh edition of the ladies open amateur golf championship at the Delhi Golf Club in New Delhi, starting Tuesday.

The 54-hole tournament will see many Indian Golf Union ranked players, namely Diksha Dagar, Tvesa Malik, Sifat Sagoo and Anika Varma among others.

Amandeep and Vani confident of a good show at Women’s Indian Open 2016

While the top stars have their eyes set on the glittering trophy of the Women’s Indian Open, the Indian contingent led by Amandeep Drall and Vani Kapoor will be keen to keep the title at home as the country's only Ladies European Tour (LET) golf tournament tees off at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurgaon on Friday.

The flagship event - co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET) and the Women's Golf Association of India (WGAI), featuring 114 professionals from around the globe, is yet to see an Indian claim the coveted title. However, a strong Indian contingent of 17 players seems eager to rewrite history. Both Amandeep Drall and Vani Kapoor are in good form and are expected to hold their own in a star studded field including the likes of LPGA star Brittany Lincicome, LET Order of Merit leader Beth Allen and defending Champion Emily Pedersen.

Bhullar ready to challenge for BANK BRI-JCB Indonesia Open title

An in-form Gaganjeet Bhullar of India will headline the BANK BRI-JCB Indonesia Open from November 17 to 20 with the aim of winning the event for a second time in his career.

The 28-year-old won the prestigious showpiece in 2013 for his fifth Asian Tour title but went through a title drought because of a wrist injury. He returned to his best form when he triumphed in Korea last month and will be the top contender in Indonesia.

Chawrasia, Lahiri struggle in Turkey

Indian golfers S.S.P. Chawrasia and Anirban Lahiri finished tied 47th and joint 62nd after scoring two-under 69 and 67, respectively, in the fourth round at the Turkish Airlines Open on Sunday.

Chawrasia accumulated four birdies against two bogeys for a 69 that took his four-day total to three-under 281, while Lahiri produced his best round of the week when the Bengalurean fired five birdies against a lone bogey for a 67 that lifted his tally to par-284.

Chikka eyes another title chance at Resorts World Manila Masters

Young talent Chikkarangappa S. of India believes he has what it takes to challenge for a maiden Asian Tour title at the Resorts World Manila Masters next week.

The 23-year-old Indian has been in sparkling form of late, finishing top-10 in his last three starts on the region’s premier Tour where he sits in a 30th place on the Order of Merit with US$127,649.

Chawrasia and Chikka take similar paths for shot at ISPS HANDA World Cup of Golf

Growing up some 1,500 kilometers apart, the golf careers of India’s S.S.P. Chawrasia and Chikkarangappa S. could not have taken a more identical pathway that they are now on same track to challenge the world in Melbourne later this month.

Both Asian Tour players will make their debuts at the ISPS HANDA World Cup of Golf at Kingston Heath Golf Club from November 24 to 27, forming one of seven two-man Asian teams hoping to hoist the famous trophy won previously by many legends of the games.

Lahiri, Chawrasia set sights on Turkish Airlines Open

Indian golfers Anirban Lahiri and S.S.P. Chawrasia will be keen to make an upward move in the European Tour Race to Dubai rankings when they kick off at the Turkish Airlines Open in Antalya on Thursday.

Lahiri and Chawrasia are 86th and 89th, respectively, in the European Tour standings and need to come inside the top-60 to play the European Tour season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai later this month.
