Charles Pic Joins Caterham F1 Team On Multi-Year Contract

Charles Pic has today been announced as one of Caterham F1 Team's race drivers for the 2013 season and beyond. The talented French driver joins the Anglo / Malaysian team on a multi-year contract after impressing in his first season in the Formula 1 World Championship.

Lotus forced to settle for 6th and 7th at United States GP

Lotus F1 Team took a formation finish with Kimi Räikkönen in sixth and Romain Grosjean seventh in the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas, Austin, Texas this afternoon.

Kimi maintains third position in the Drivers' Championship on 206 points; 16 ahead of Lewis Hamilton in fourth. The team remains fourth in the Constructors' Championship on 302 points; an increased 166 in front of Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 in fifth.

HRT happy to get both cars to the chequered flag at United States Grand Prix

The inaugural Formula 1 race held today at Circuit of Americas in Austin, Texas, didn't disappoint and American fans enjoyed an amazing race from beginning to end. The nineteenth race of the season had a complicated start for HRT Formula 1 Team but both drivers improved their performance throughout the weekend to round it off today at the race. For the eighth time this season, both F112's crossed the finish line with Pedro de la Rosa in 21st position and Narain Karthikeyan in 22nd.

With no time to lose, the team heads to Sao Paulo, Brazil, for the last Grand Prix of the season that will take place at Interlagos from the 23rd to the 25th of November.

Mercedes fail to pick up any points at United States Grand Prix as tyres let Schumacher down

Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher finished the United States Grand Prix in 13th and 16th places respectively today. Nico followed a one-stop prime/option strategy in the race today, stopping on lap 34. It was meant to give him a chance to be competitive with a long first run, and kept him in the reckoning at the half-way stage, but his pit stop dropped him down the order, and the young German failed to find the pace necessary to carve his way through the field.

Michael's race was converted from one to two stops when it became clear his first set of tyres were struggling. The veteran superstar, in his penultimate race for Mercedes had a bruising first run, and was involved in a lot of battles up and down the order. However, after a good start to the weekend, the car just wasn't able to get enough out of the tyres and Schumacher was forced to settle for 16th place.

Williams record double points finish at United States Grand Prix

It was another double points finish for the Williams F1 Team with Pastor Maldonado finishing ninth and Bruno Senna tenth, collecting three points in total in the United States Grand Prix.

After dropping back to 15th in the early stages, Pastor pushed hard on a one-stop strategy to make his way back through the field and catch Bruno to take P9. Bruno drove well fighting his way up to eighth before his only pitstop of the race, but on rejoining was held up behind Hulkenberg who defended well to keep Bruno behind allowing Pastor to catch them both. Maldonado did well to hustle the Force India man, but Hulkenberg had just enough pace in his Mercedes powered engine to make him very hard to overtake down the straights.

Hamilton romps to victory in US GP; Vettel and Alonso complete the podium as Drivers' title fight goes down to the wire in Brazil

hamilton1Lewis Hamilton drove one of the best races of his Formula One career as the British ace halted the rampaging Red Bull of Sebastian Vettel to take a dazzling victory at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. Sebastian Vettel finished the race in 2nd place, with the German still in the driver's seat to be crowned the Youngest ever Triple Champion in Formula One history as he heads into the season ending finale in Brazil with a 13 point advantage over title rival Fernando Alonso.

Alonso was cool as a cucumber under immense pressure of starting from a lowly 7th place on the grid, but the Spaniard hustled his Ferrari to finish in 3rd place on the final step on the podium. The Spanish Matador lives to fight another day as his titanic battle with Vettel for the driver's title would come to an epic conclusion in Brazil. Felipe Massa having started from 11th place on the grid finished the race in an excellent 4th place to make it a Ferrari 3-4. Jenson Button, in one of the drives of the day, brought home valuable points to the McLaren team in 5th place.

USGP: Vettel beats Hamilton to Austin pole, Alonso to start Eighth

Sebastian Vettel notched up his 6th pole position of the season in qualifying for the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas this afternoon. The reigning double world champion seemed to be headed for a comfortable pole throughout the session until the final minutes of Q3 where Lewis Hamilton's McLaren got closest to challenging the Red Bull at the top. The Briton ended up a tenth down and will join the young German on the front row of the grid.

Australian superstar Mark Webber begins the race on the second the row in P3, on the favoured clean side of the grid on the racing line at the new track and will fancy his chances of getting the jump on Hamilton at the start.
