RAM SLAM T20 Challenge: Van Wyk, Vilas keep Dolphins alive with T17 win

Key half-centuries by Dane Vilas and Morne van Wyk kept the Hollywoodbets Dolphins on course to reach the RAM SLAM T20 Challenge semi-finals thanks to a pulsating six-wicket win over the VKB Knights in their rain-hit clash in Bloemfontein on Friday.

Nearly an hour was lost at the start after the weather threatened to play spoil sport, but after the match was reduced to 17 overs per side, it delivered an excellent contest full of clean hitting and thrilling stroke play.

RAM SLAM T20 Challenge: Warriors edge Lions in rain induced thriller

Jon-Jon Smuts starred with bat and ball as the Warriors beat the rain to complete a compelling four-run Duckworth/Lewis victory over the bizhub Highveld Lions and take charge of their RAM SLAM T20 Challenge destiny in Potchefstroom on Friday night.

Knowing that only a win would suffice, the visitors first made 133 for four in 17.1 overs, before returning to defend a revised 97-run 10-over target by restricting the hosts to 92 for seven at Senwes Park.

RAM SLAM T20 Challenge: Cobras inflict first loss on Titans

The Multiply Titans were finally brought back down to earth in the RAM SLAM T20 Challenge after Ferisco Adams and George Linde held their nerve to help the WSB Cape Cobras secure a vital three-wicket win in front of a sizeable Cape Town crowd on Friday.

The pair shared a vital 26-run unbroken stand that came from 2.2 overs as the hosts chased down their 133-run victory target with three deliveries to spare and in the process secured themselves a place in the semi-finals next week.

AB de Villiers led a stunning batting display and Tabraiz Shamsi an excellent bowling performance as the Multiply Titans extended their unbeaten start to the RAM SLAM T20 Challenge season with a thumping 56-run bonus-point win over the Warriors in a rain-hit clash in Benoni on Friday.

The match at Sahara Park Willowmoore was reduced to a 13-over-per-side affair after lightening and rain delayed the start.

BBL trade period closes with Hurricanes-Renegades player trade

The KFC Big Bash League player trade period has now closed for the BBL|07 season, with the league able to confirm the following trade has occurred: Matthew Wade will move from the Melbourne Renegades to the Hobart Hurricanes while Beau Webster will move the Hobart Hurricanes to the Melbourne Renegades

KFC BBL player contracting is set to close on Friday, 8 December, while Rebel Women’s Big Bash League player contracting closed on Friday 24 November.

Hollywoodbets Dolphins coach Grant Morgan believes there is no point complaining about the weather as they prepare to welcome the WSB Cape Cobras to Durban for their RAM SLAM T20 Challenge encounter at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead on Friday.

Even though it is the sixth match for the hosts, they have only played two games so far because of the rain that has followed them almost everywhere they have played.
