IPL 2017: Sunrisers Hyderabad show Mumbai Indians why they are Champions!

Defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad strengthened their hold on the fourth and final play-offs spot of the Indian Premier League (IPL) as they thumped top-placed Mumbai Indians by seven wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium here on Monday.

Playing their final home game of the league stage, Hyderabad restricted Mumbai to 138/7 in 20 overs, before Shikhar Dhawan (62 not out off 46 deliveries) and Moises Henriques (44 off 35) shared a 91-run stand for the second wicket to steer them home with 1.4 overs to spare.


IPL 2017: Smith powers Gujarat Lions to victory despite Amla ton

Gujarat Lions rode on some powerful batting to defeat Kings XI Punjab by six wickets in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Sunday evening. Chasing a challenging target of 190 runs, Gujarat romped home with two deliveries to spare. Gujarat now have eight points from 12 matches, while Punjab remain on 10 points from 11 matches.

Dwayne Smith played a starring role for Gujarat, smashing 74 runs off a mere 39 deliveries, hitting eight boundaries and four towering sixes along the way. Smith and fellow opener Ishan Kishan gave Gujarat's chase a rocking start, producing a opening partnership of 91 runs in just 9.2 overs before Punjab pacer Thangarasu Natarajan ended it as Kishan hit a full length delivery into the hands of David Miller at deep midwicket.


Gautam Gambhir:"It was some of the best hitting I've seen"

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Gautam Gambhir on Sunday said Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn's power hitting at the top was the best partnership he has seen in his long cricket career.

KKR won by six wickets against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in a rain-interrupted tie at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium where Narine and Lynn stitched together a 105-run stand for the first wicket in just 6.1 overs. Lynn scored 50 after returning from a shoulder injury which ruled him out for a month, while Narine hit a 17-ball 54 as the visitors overhauled RCB's total of 158/4 with ease.

Pursuing RCB's 158/4, KKR romped home with 159/4 in 15.1 overs riding on a 105-run stand by Narine (54; 17b 6x4 4x6) and Lynn (50; 22b 5x4 4x6) in just 6.1 overs at a run rate of 17.02.

Putting up a horrendous show with both the bat and ball, Delhi Daredevils posted their lowest total of 66 all out in 13.4 overs as they lost to the Mumbai Indians by 146 runs -- biggest defeat in terms of runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) - here on Saturday.

Facing one of their remaining must-win matches after having eight points from 10 games, Delhi allowed Lendl Simmons and Kieran Pollard to hit blistering half-centuries as Mumbai posted a huge total of 212/3 in 20 overs at the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium.


IPL 2017: Unadkat hat-trick and all star Stokes power Pune to crucial win against Hyderabad

Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) rode on an all-round effort from Ben Stokes and a hat-trick from left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 12 runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) tie at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Saturday.

With the win, the Steve Smith-led Supergiant vaulted to the second spot in the IPL standings, and almost booked their place for the IPL play-offs while the Sunrisers remained fourth after their second successive loss.

Kings XI Punjab produced an excellent bowling performance to defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 19 runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match in Bengaluru on Friday. Defending a low total of 138 runs, Punjab dismissed the star-studded RCB batting line-up for 119 runs in 19 overs.

Medium-pacer Sandeep Sharma and left-arm spinner Axar Patel were the stars of the show with three wickets each. Patel returned figures of 3/11 in four overs while Sandeep took 3/22.
