Premier League Week 3: India TV Schedule

After last week's results we have come to a conclusion that 6-0 is the new ‘average' when it come to goals-per- game. Anything less than that (at least from Chelsea) will scream DISASTER! (We were just joking) Though we may have expected such a score line from Chelsea and Arsenal, Newcastle definitely surprised us all.

While Birmingham City and Wolves fought hard for a win and the Cottagers worked till the very end for that well deserved point, Man City and Bolton enjoyed their football, walking coolly away with three. West Brom‘s Peter Odemwingie was a happy man after he scored the only goal of the game thus bringing home a win. This week they face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday where they hope to ply the same magic again.

This is the decider, the final round of play-offs. Whoever makes it through, will be entering the Champions League Group Stages. Braga and Tottenham, this season's debutants will fight to prove they are the best, while big guns Ajax and Sevilla know that they can't let down the hopes and dreams of a million supporters who hope this to be their year.

Sevilla's loss in the first leg would mean that they got to pull up their socks and fight back newbies Braga while Tottenham Hotspur, who suffered the same fate last week still have a chance to make it into the next stage of the competition when they play at Home to Young Boys.

Ajax and Anderlecht ended the first leg with a draw and will now have to work even harder when they play at Home to Dynamo Kyiv and Partizan respectively in order to secure a spot in the next round of the competition.

Doesn't it feel good to have the Premier League back after the crazy World Cup we had in June? We still have France handing out penalties for inappropriate behavior and we still have people talking about the need for goal line technology and let's not forget some of the players who are still in the post-World Cup-zone. But the season is back with a bang and its time we focused our attention on the chase for Premiership glory.

Arsenal got that lucky away point to Liverpool in an entertaining 1-1 draw and is now set to play their first home game of the season against newly promoted side Blackpool. But don't be fooled by the Seasiders' status, they did just win their first game 4-0 away to Wigan last week! With that boost of confidence they are all set to take the Emirates by storm, and fans can watch that game live on Saturday evening on ESPN.

The UEFA Champions League is back once more and we can't wait for it to begin. But before Europe's topflight clubs take the stage some of them will have to prove their worth and battle it out in the play-offs. In this year's play-off round we have a new face in the form of Tottenham Hotspur who will be making their Champions League debut.

Spurs had a great season last year after they jumped four places ahead on the League table and they have a fairly comfortable Champions League draw as they face BSC Young Boys, a Swiss club that have only ever reached as far as the second round of qualifiers.

Meanwhile, Dutch giants Ajax are set to take on Ukrainian side FC Dynamo Kyiv in what one can only assume to be a mouthwatering battle. Both clubs made it through the 3rd round qualifiers and are now eager to fight for their place in one of Europe's finest club competitions.

It's football season once more and aren't we excited! With the season kick-off round the corner, it's time to pick up from where we last left, at least if you are a Spurs supporter you will. Tottenham Hotspur will begin their campaign by facing last season's rivals Manchester City at Home. With Spurs fighting to remain in the top four and Man City hoping to overthrow them, this match will be a definite entertainer.

The red half of North London will be in for a testing time when they travel to the North West on Sunday to face Liverpool, who are likely to be a new and much better organized side under manager Roy Hodgson. Last year when Arsenal visited Merseyside on the opening day of the season, they trounced Everton 6-1. Can the Gunners head home with another win, or will the new manager effect propel Liverpool to glory. Join us on Sunday to find out.
