Chelsea and Tottenham played out an entertaining game to share the points on a night when the Champions League picture for the upcoming season could have been decided. In what was a thoroughly enjoyable spectacle with barely a dull moment, Spurs did well to come from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw.

Chelsea took the lead as early the tenth minute with a point blank header from Oscar from a Gary Cahill knockdown from a Chelsea corner. Tottenham equalised 16 minutes later with a sublime goal from Emmanuel Adebayor. Minutes before the half time, following some impressive ball control by Torres, Ramires prodded the ball into the corner of the net after a brilliant run.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has snubbed a move to Liverpool to join Tottenham, reported Setanta Sports. The Icelandic international was expected to rejoin former Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers at Anfield but the player has chosen to move to White Hart Lane stating that Spurs have great ambition and better players. However, the Liverpool manager has accused the player of being money obsessed and hinted that it was the reason he preferred Spurs.

The 22 year-old midfielder gained several fans for his direct style of play when he joined Swansea City on loan last season. The player was expected to make a permanent move to the Liberty Stadium, but following the departure of Rodgers, Liverpool were expected to land the player this summer. However, Sigurdsson has now moved to North London and will play under Andre Villas-Boas next summer.

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Gylfi Sigurdsson from Hoffenheim, thus bringing to an end one the biggest transfer sagas of the summer. The Icelandic International has been a summer transfer target for most of the top clubs in England, including Liverpool, Arsenal and Man United. But Spurs have swooped in late to pluck the attacker from Liverpool's grip as the rebuilding process at White Hart Lane continues. Spurs have just appointed Andre Villas-Boas as their new boss and with the high possibility of Luka Modric departing, the 22 year old represents a great buy.

Spurs announced the news on their website: "We are delighted to announce that we have completed the transfer of Gylfi Sigurdsson from Hoffenheim."
