Wenger ready to strike double deal!

The Daily Star reports some more exciting news for Arsenal fans as their manager Arsene Wenger is believed to be set to beat the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea to the signing of 15-year old West Ham starlet Reece Oxford. On the senior team front, Wenger is also confident of landing his long term target Lars Bender from Bayer Leverkusen for £16 million.

Tottenham’s bid rejected

Tottenham’s £15 million bid for Real Sociedad forward Antoine Griezmann has been rejected, according to reports from the Daily Mail. Sociedad want the full amount of his £25 million buyout clause and are possibly waiting for bigger clubs such as Chelsea and PSG to make a move.

Arsenal could make exciting breakthrough

The Telegraph reports that Arsenal have a chance of signing 22-year old Portuguese sensation William Carvalho for a fee of around £24 million. The Gunners have already made an offer matching that amount and despite a release clause of £37 million in the enforcer’s contract, Arsenal seem to be sensing an opening.

Rodgers chasing triple swoop

Liverpool are hoping to complete deals for the likes of Divock Origi, Loic Remy and Dejan Lovren soon, reports the Times. Reds’ boss Brendan Rodgers is ready to take a massive plunge in the transfer market for more players after having pocketed  £75 million from the sale of Luis Suarez earlier in the summer.

Wenger admits that Vermaelen could leave

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is not sure if his skipper Thomas Vermaelen would continue at the Emirates next season. The Frenchman is preparing himself for the Belgian centre-back’s move to Old Trafford though and was quoted in the Daily Star saying, “I cannot guarantee he will stay, but should he go I would bring another centre-back in for sure."

Man United’s £11 million asking price for Nani puts off AC Milan

Italian giants AC Milan are prepared to wait for Manchester United to lower their asking price for Portuguese winger Nani, reports the Daily Express. United currently want around £11 million for the 27-year old, but Milan are confident that the Red Devils’ asking price will come down as the summer window progresses.

‘Cesc never wanted Arsenal return’- Mourinho

Mourinho has already given a taste of what his theatrical jibes could be like next season by taking an early dig at his most favourite opponent Arsenal. The Blues boss claims that their new signing and former Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas had no intention of re-joining the Gunners, despite the Spanish playmaker clearly claiming that Arsene Wenger did not have him in his plans. Mourinho was quoted saying in the Daily Mail, “I think he[Fabregas] really wanted to come. Arsenal had an option where they could interfere, but I don't' think he was open to that. He was in our direction so it was easy for me.”

Arsenal complete second signing

Arsenal have finally wrapped up the long awaited transfer of Frenchman Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle United for a fee believed to be in the region of £10m. The Gunners announced the signing yesterday on their official website. Debuchy has been handed the no.2 jersey, formerly worn by Abou Diaby, who has taken a new number.

QPR bolster defence with twin signing

Queens Park Rangers have signed two defenders at opposite ends of their careers to bolster their fortunes this season. The Hoops announced the capture of former Manchester United skipper Rio Ferdinand yesterday, and have also reportedly agreed terms with Cardiff City youngster Steven Caulker according to reports in the Daily Express.

Another signing

Arsenal are set to confirm the capture of French international right-back Mathieu Debuchy as their 2nd major signing of the summer on Thursday, reports the London Evening Standard. The North Londoners had the deal in the bag quite a while back, but they could officially announce it after Newcastle finalized their player’s departure after lining up a replacement.

Mikel Out, Khedira in?

Chelsea are looking for an upgrade on their Nigerian enforcer John Obi Mikel by selling him this summer to make way for Arsenal target Sami Khedira, reports the Daily Express. While the Gunners are struggling to match the German’s wage demands, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is willing to give the 27-year old what he wants to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Ba set to leave

Chelsea striker Demba Ba is set to leave to Turkish side Besiktas this summer after the two clubs reached an agreement over a transfer, reports the Metro. The Senegalese is expendable at Chelsea and Jose Mourinho wants a strike force revamp for next season.
