Just yesterday there were reports of much sought after Colombian striker Radamel Falcao being lured away by French Ligue 1 bound cash-rich AS Monaco, who are plotting to become the new superpower in the land. A Spanish TV station claims that the newly crowned French champions Paris St. Germain are not going take that lying down, and are set to fire their own retaliatory salvo. PSG have apparently launched an extraordinary bid to get arguably the best manager in the world Jose Mourinho to snub a return to Chelsea and join them instead.

The French Champions are reportedly offering the Portuguese tactician an astounding salary of £12.7 million a year to take over at the Parc des Princes.

French Giants Paris Saint-Germain have rejected Real Madrid’s request to sign their coach Carlo Ancelotti.

On Monday, the Club President Nasser al-Khelaifi was quoted by the Guardian as having said: "They [Madrid] came and I discussed it with them. He's got a contract with us for one more year … for me, he's here next year. He's a fantastic guy and I'm sure he'll respect his contract."

Arsenal have gone through a roller coaster ride this season and with each dip, Arsenal fans have vehemently called for the sacking of Arsene Wenger. However, as the Gunners claw their way back into the top four to maintain their place in the elites of Europe, the much ridiculed manager has welcomed the idea of staying on with Arsenal beyond his current contract that runs till next summer, reported the Daily Mail.

Arsenal were dumped out of the Champions League by current tournament finalists Bayern Munich, albeit on the away goals rule. The Gunners have lost just one game in the last two and a half months and if Wenger can deliver more of the same, the fans would be glad to see their manager of 17 years for much longer.

Bayern remain in pole position to sign Lewandowski

The bad blood between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich has reached hateful levels since news of Mario Gotze’s move was announced on Bayern’s website and Dortmund will not be spared even Robert Lewandowski as the Mirror claims that the German Champions are ahead of Man United and Chelsea in the race for the Polish star. The 24 year olds agent is said to have inked a preliminary deal with an unnamed club after he declared that the Premier League would not be Lewandowski’s destination this summer, the transfer sleuths have decoded that the Allianz Arena will indeed be his new home.

Man City and Napoli close to agreeing Dzeko-Cavani swap deal

Man City’s summer overhaul will begin with the intimidating arrival of Edinson Cavani according to the Mirror, who report that Napoli are close to accepting a £35m bid plus Edin Dzeko for the Uruguayan. The 26 year old might have a contract at Napoli till 2017 but he is almost certain to leave the Serie A in the summer, with Real Madrid also fighting for his signature.

Qatar Investment Authority seems to be in no mood to let the Glazers grab Cristiano Ronaldo, and it seems that English Champions Manchester United would have to splash the cash if they are to beat out the soon to be crowned French Champions to the signature of the Portuguese superstar.

According to reports in the Sun this morning, Paris Saint-Germain have stolen the march on the Red Devils, by approaching Real Madrid with a “substantial offer” for Ronaldo, whose buyout clause itself is estimated to be €1 billion as per his contract.

Lewandowski’s agent cools Man United talk

Manchester United’s hopes of landing Real Madrid’s slayer- Robert Lewandowski has reduced greatly after the Polish star’s agent told the Guardian that the striker wasn’t looking for a move to the Premier League at the moment. Sir Alex Ferguson confidently declared over the weekend that Borussia Dortmund wouldn’t sell another star player to Bayern Munich but the 24 year olds agent thinks otherwise: “The Premier League is very interesting for Robert. How long is the future, I cannot say to you. I think this summer is not the future,” said Maik Barthel.

Man City in talks with Pellegrini

The tomb bells are ringing out for Roberto Mancini at Manchester City as the deposed Champions have begun the process of replacing the Italian, with the Guardian reporting that sporting director Txiki Begiristain has flown out to Spain to hold talks with Manuel Pellegrini’s people. The Malaga boss has been linked with City since the start of the year and the Eastlands club want him signed and sealed before Chelsea make a late move. Mancini might still continue in the hot seat at the Etihad but the Italian’s leverage has significantly decreased after the club’s abysmal title defence.

The Belgian League is fast becoming a terrific breeding ground for Europe's elite clubs, and the latest youngster to attract the attention of the footballing community is 23 year old Senegalese center back Cheikhou Kouyate, who currently plies his trade for Anderlecht.

With a global shortage of quality defenders, interest in the youngster is likely to grow as we come closer to the summer transfer window, and Kouyate admits that he has been in contact with English giants Arsenal over a possible £5 million move.
