Mumbai Maharathi pulled off a superb comeback to beat Delhi Sultans 4-3 and enter the semi-finals of the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium here on Friday.

Trailing 1-3 at one stage, Mumbai fought back to register their third win. They thus ended their campaign in the league stage with six points from five matches. Delhi crashed out of contention, having lost all the four matches they have played so far. Mumbai have become the second team after Jaipur Ninjas to enter the semi-finals of this year's PWL.

Shreyas Iyer's 82 helped defending champions Mumbai fight back as they reached 208 for three in their second innings after allowing Gujarat to take a 100-run first-innings lead on the third day of the Ranji Trophy cricket final on Thursday.

Iyer found a perfect foil in former captain Suryakumar Yadav (45 not out) and the duo shared a 127-run stand for the third wicket as Mumbai built a 108-run lead over Gujarat in their bid to extend their record haul of 41 Ranji Trophy titles.

Captain Parthiv Patel's 90 lifted Gujarat to 291 for six in their first innings as they took a crucial 63-run lead over defending champions Mumbai on the second day of the Ranji Trophy cricket final on Wednesday.

Apart from the seasoned left-hander, Manprit Juneja scored 77 as the duo shared a 120-run stand for the fourth wicket to help Gujarat move past record champions Mumbai's first innings total of 228 all out.

Defending champions Mumbai are eyeing their record-stretching 42nd Ranji Trophy title when they face Gujarat in the summit clash at the Holkar Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Mumbai have won the premier domestic cricket competition 41 out of 45 appearances in the final. The last time they lost in the final was to Haryana in 1990-91. Mumbai are the overwhelming favourites for the trophy this time too as they have lost just twice in 61 matches against Gujarat, the last loss being in 1977-78.

NCR Punjab Royals dictated terms on Day 4 of the second edition of the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) as they beat Mumbai Maharathi 4-3 at the K.D. Jadhav Indoor Stadium in Delhi on Thursday.

Mumbai had an early advantage as they won the toss and decided to block the 53 kg women's category, thus preventing the dangerous Odunayo Folasade Adekuoroye from contesting the tie. Punjab blocked the 74 kg men's category, as Mumbai's Jabrayil Hasanov had to sit out as well.
