Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has asserted that he is keen to sign Leicester City's star forward Riyad Mahrez. This revelation comes hours after news broke of a failed £87m bid by the former English Premier League (EPL) champions for teenaged sensation Kylian Mbappe from reigning French league champions AS Monaco.

"We have not made a bid, but personally, I like the player, yes," Wenger told beIN Sports of Mahrez, who earlier this week handed in a transfer request at Leicester.

Leicester City's star winger Riyad Mahrez on Tuesday handed a transfer request to the 2015-16 English football champions saying he wants to challenge for major honours next season.

Mahrez played a major role in helping the low profile club defy all the odds to win the English Premier League (EPL) title last season. Leicester finished 12th in this EPL season and their high was reaching the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, with Mahrez scoring 10 goals across all competitions.

Son Heung Min added the other two on Thursday to bring his goal tally to 20 in the season, becoming the highest-scoring South Korean player in a European season.

Kane opened the scoring in the 25th minute from close range before Son made it 2-0 by volleying in Dele Alli's pass. Ben Chilwell put it 2-1 after the break.

A first-half penalty from Antoine Griezmann was enough to give Atletico Madrid a 1-0 victory in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie at home to Leicester City.

The win was well-deserved as Atletico dominated possession and had most of the game in the visitors' half, but Leicester can rightly complain that the penalty should never have been given, as foul was clearly outside of the penalty area.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has claimed that he has received death threats following the sacking of former manager Claudio Ranieri, asserting that he was not responsible for the Italian's removal.

Ranieri guided Leicester to an unlikely English Premier League (EPL) title last season, but the team struggled during the last few months of his tenure. The 65-year-old Italian was sacked on February 23 when the reigning EPL champions were just a single point above the relegation zone.

Premier League champions Leicester City defeated Sevilla 2-0 in the second leg of their Champions League round-of-16 tie to move into the quarter-finals on an aggregate score of 3-2. West Morgan (27th minute) and Marc Albrighton (54th) on Tuesday gave Leicester a 2-0 win at the King Power Stadium despite Sevilla coming into the game with a 2-1 first leg win in Seville.
