The Daily Mail reports that European champions Chelsea are eyeing a shock move for 18 year old Dulwich Hamlett starlet Daniel Carr. Dulwich Hamlett is a non-league club that is hoping to gain promotion into a league division next season and despite their intent to keep the unproven talent in Carr, they may have to yield to the might of some England’s biggest clubs.
It is rumoured that Chelsea have now hijacked Premier League rival Liverpool’s attempt to snap up the striker and are willing to pay a big fee to bring home the talent. Carr was initially nurtured by Dulwich manager Gavin Rose as a winger before being moved to a central striker where he achieved instant success. Carr had previously trialed with several bigger clubs in Leeds United and Charlton Athletic but has failed to make it through into any of these sides owing to the talks breaking down over financial issues.
