A team effort every time has been Mumbai Indians' key to success, captain Rohit Sharma said after their facile six-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) second qualifier game at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday.

"That's been the hallmark of this team - we've not depended on one individual. It's all about teamwork and we've been doing that regularly. Good to see when individuals take responsibility," Rohit said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Krunal Pandya's unbeaten 30-ball 45 helped Mumbai Indians record a facile six-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) second qualifier clash at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday. Mumbai, who finished on 111/4 in 14.3 overs, will now take on Steve Smith's Rising Pune Supergiant in the final on Sunday.

Chasing just 108, Krunal joined hands with skipper Rohit Sharma for a 54-run fourth wicket stand to steady Mumbai's ship after early hiccups which left them on 34/3 at one stage.

Old foes Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Mumbai Indians will lock horns for the third time for a place in the IPL final when they go for the Qualifer 2 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday.

KKR, who won by seven wickets against Sunrisers Hyderabad in a rain-interrupted tie in the early hours of Thursday, will have revenge on their minds as Mumbai beat them twice in the league stages this term.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Gautam Gambhir led from the front to knock defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with a seven-wicket win and made to Qualifier 2 in a rain-interrupted eliminator clash at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday. KKR will take on Mumbai Indians on Friday at the same venue.

Chasing 48 to win in six overs after rain and wet outfield ate up a large chunk of playing time, forcing Duckworth-Lewis method to come into play, Gambhir steadied the ship after KKR were 12/3 at one stage with an unbeaten 19-ball 32. Ishank Jaggi, playing his first match, was not out on five.

Mumbai Indians underlined their title credentials with a convincing nine-run win over Kolkata Knight Riders in both sides' final Indian Premier League (IPL) engagement at the Eden Gardens here on Saturday.

Having already qualified for the playoffs, the table toppers ringed in as many as six changes to their starting XI. Krunal Pandya, R Vinay Kumar, Ambati Rayudu, Mitchell Johnson, Tim Southee, and Saurabh Tiwary were all slotted in with Jasprit, Harbhajan Singh, Nitish Rana, Parthiv Patel, Mitchell McClenaghan, and Lasith Malinga being rested.

Skipper Suresh Raina conjured up a tenacious rearguard action to lead Gujarat Lions to a four-wicket win against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in an Indian Premier League game at the Eden Gardens on Friday. Raina (84; 46b; 9x4, 4x6) brought up his second fifty of the season's IPL also eclipsing Virat Kohli as the highest run-getter in the cash-rich T20 league. This was the former Chennai Super Kings batsman's 30th half century.

The dashing left-hander, who was dropped on 1 by wicketkeeper Robin Uthappa, smashed Chris Woakes and Nathan Coulter-Nile for 18 and 16 runs respectively but fell to Kuldeep Yadav. Ravindra Jadeja, who was unbeaten on 19 with James Faulker for company at 4, hit the winning runs with a boundary.

Robin Uthappa, whose 68 helped Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) win easily against Sunrisers Hyderabad, said the team now wants him to bat at No.3, and the home side was in control of the game all the time.

"The team requires me to bat at No 3. I have taken that challenge on. It's a very important position as well. It's an important wicket and we need someone who is experienced and can handle that pressure to make sure that you don't lose another wicket immediately," Uthappa, who usually opens the batting for the men in purple, told reporters at the end of the match. Uthappa was adjudged the man-of-the-match.
