The transfer window wars continue to get waged, with The Daily Express reporting that Liverpool and Juventus are about to go one on one over St Etienne prodigy Kurt Zouma.

The Merseyside club are desperately looking for a replacement for their retired centre back Jamie Carragher, and were reported to be going in for former Arsenal and Man City defender Kolo Toure. But Toure, on account of his age, would not be a permanent solution, and the Reds would certainly want to find a more viable long term option and are reportedly chasing some promising youngsters, including Kurt Zouma and Tiago Llori.

24 year old Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has been a player in demand of late. The young goal poacher has been linked heavily to the Madrid clubs, Atletico and Real, and now it appears that the Italian champions Juventus have decided to join the race for the forward according to Italian paper Tuttosport.

The Mexican has been in tremendous form for the English champions scoring many vital goals, most of them from the bench. A total of 18 goals in all competitions this season is a respectable return for any striker, but especially so for someone who has mostly played as a substitute. The last of those 18 goals against West Brom in Sir Alex Ferguson's final game as a manager was also the 50th of his Manchester United career. The player was earmarked as a special talent when he was brought to Old Trafford three years ago from local club Guadalajara. It’s fair to say that the striker has not disappointed. Comparisons have even been made to the Manchester United legend, Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer.

Even after having qualified for the UEFA Champions League, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger finds absolutely no breathing room whatsoever as his squad is once again under siege. First choice right back Bacary Sagna is already looking forward to a future away from North London, and now another key player in Arsene Wenger's scheme of things is being linked with a move away from the Emirates.

Lukas Podolski, the German forward, who has been chipped in with 17 goals and 11 assists in 42 appearances for Arsenal this season has attracted the attention of Italian Giants Juventus, who are in a mad rush to bolster their strike-force. Podolski has a contract with the Gunners until 2016, but the Old Lady of Turin does have the power and resources, not to mention a trophy-winning charm, to cut short the German's stay.

Arsenal look to be making some significant headway in the transfer market after being relieved of their Champions League qualification worries. The Gunners are planning to bid for Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner, to fill in for the outgoing Bacary Sagna.

Sagna has made it amply clear that he would prefer a move away from the Emirates this summer, PSG being his most likely destination. Sagna’s departure would create an enormous void in the Arsenal squad, with his understudy Carl Jenkinson almost 10 year his junior. While Jenkinson’s talent is there for all to see, and the Gunners have shown faith in the youngster by offering him a 5 year deal, it might be a little too early to thrust him into the role of the lead right back in a 50 game plus season.

Incoming Manchester United manager David Moyes finally has some positive future prospects to look forward to as a report in The Daily Express suggests that Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio might be headed to Old Trafford this summer.

Manchester United were reported to be en route to planning a £25 million bid for the Italy International, and according to present speculation, the 27 year old may well end up in England this summer with his utility for the Turin Giants reaching its expiry date pretty fast. A move away from Turin would also be beneficial for the Italian, as Juventus Coach Antonio Conte continues plotting bringing newer and bigger names to the club, which could lead to a few significant changes in the midfield.

Arsenal could be on the verge of losing out on a potential transfer target after Juventus were reported to be planning a double coup for Manchester City’s Carloz Tevez and Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain, reported the Mirror, yesterday.

The Turin Giants are reported to be looking to bolster their attack by deploying BOTH Tevez and Higuain up on the front. The Italians’ Sporting Director Beppe Marotta was quoted saying: “I have to say that Higuain is a bit younger and has a higher market value. Tevez on the other hand has a year left on his contract so maybe between the two, the Tevez deal is easier.”

Italian champions Juventus have agreed terms in principle with Argentine forward Gonzalo Higuain with the striker all set to swap the whites of Los Blancos for the white and black stripes of Turin, reported goal.com.

Juventus have already procured the services of Fernando Llorente from Athletic Bilbao and are in the market for one more world class striker. Initially they pursued PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic but it is widely believed that the Swede’s personal demands could be too much for the ‘Old Lady of Turin’.
