Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) dominated with both bat and ball to beat Delhi Daredevils by 15 runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday.

Electing to bat first on winning the toss, SRH posted a challenging total of 191/4 in their allotted 20 overs with quickfire half-centuries from Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan. Williamson scored 89 runs off 51 balls with six boundaries and five sixes while Dhawan posted 50 runs, studding his 50-ball stint with seven boundaries and a six.

Bolstered by the thrilling last over win over the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Mumbai Indians will aim to deny a hattrick of wins to defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), when the two sides clash in an Indian Premier League 2017 match at the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday.

It is still early days in the tournament, with Mumbai having lost one and winning one while the Hyderabad side seems to have carried on from where they left last season, winning both their matches handsomely.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad edged home favourites Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 runs in a thrilling final to be crowned the 2016 Indian Premier League Champions. In what was a terrific advertisement for the game, more than 400 runs were scored and 14 wickets fell as an entertaining contest went down to the final over with Bhuvneshwar Kumar holding his nerve, not for the first time this season, to defend the 18 runs his teammates had left him with to bowl his side to a deserving win.

Hyderabad won the toss and surprised everyone by opting to bat first. The visitors got off to a solid start with David Warner in excellent form, smashing 69 off 38 balls. The Sunrisers' skipper shared a 69 run stand for the opening wicket with Shikhar Dhawan, who chipped in with 28.

A fantastic all round display by the Sunrisers Hyderabad, playing as a unit, helped them beat the Kolkata Knight Riders by 22 runs in the Eliminator at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday night.

Having been put in to bat, the Sunrisers Hyderabad stuttered to 162-8 in their 20 overs with Yuvraj Singh top scoring with 44. Each of the Sunrisers' top 5 got into double figures, but no one went on to make a big score. David Warner made a run a ball 28, while his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan struck a couple of boundaries before Morne Morkel made a mess of his furniture.

The Kolkata Knight Riders have beaten the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 22 runs at the Eden Garderns in the 4pm start on Sunday to book their place in the play-offs for Season 9 of the IPL. The match itself was an entertaining affair with KKR making full use of a poor decision from the Sunrisers Hyderabad to send them in on a pitch that would offer grip and turn as the match wore on to post a winning total of 171-6 on the board. The Sunrisers in response could manage only 149-8 in their 20 overs with Sunil Narine and Kuldeep Yadav taking 5 wickets to ensure victory for the home side.

Robin Uthappa once again gave the Knight Riders an electric start, gliding the ball through the offside with unerring precision to post 25 before he fell to Barinder Sran. Colin Munro, picked ahead of Eoin Morgan today, failed to make the most of the opportunity afforded to him as he contributed just 10 and KKR looked in a spot of bother at 57-3 when Gautam Gambhir fell too after getting off to a start for 16.

A last ball boundary from Karun Nair helped the Delhi Daredevils keep their fight for a play-off berth very much alive as they stunned the Sunrisers Hyderabad in a thrilling contest at Raipur which means that no team is yet guaranteed their place in the knock-out stages of the IPL with 2 points separating the top 6 with 4 games left to play.

It was the Daredevils who won the toss today and invited the Sunrisers Hyderabad to have a bat. David Warner dominated the Sunrisers' innings with the bat, top scoring with 73 off 56 balls, with no other batsman making his way past the 20 run mark. Interestingly though 7 of the 8 batsmen who had a bat made their way into double figures with everyone virtually getting a start, but no one else going on to capitalize.

A fantastic innings of 96 from Man of the Match Hashim Amla went in vain as the Kings XI Punjab suffered another defeat, their 8th of the season, going down to the table topping Gujarat Lions by 7 wickets in a thrilling contest which went down to the final over and was settled by some late big hitting from veteran Indian left-hander Yuvraj Singh.

Yuvraj came out to bat with the Sunrisers Hyderabad at 97-2 in the 13th over after David Warner (52) had become the latest victim of the Sunrisers' hit-wicket curse, funnily enough falling in Yuvi's footsteps. He shared a handy 42 run partnership with young Deepak Hooda, who smashed 34 off 22 balls, before taking the Sunrisers home in the company of Ben Cutting, who also hit 2 sixes, chipping in with an unbeaten 18 off 11 balls.
