English football club Watford on Saturday appointed Marco Silva as head coach for two seasons, replacing Walter Mazzari after an underwhelming 17th-place finish in the English Premier League (EPL).

The 39-year-old, who has experience of managing in Portugal, Greece and most recently in England with Hull City, parted ways with the latter after being appointed in January. Hull City were relegated to the second division after 18th place in EPL.

A fantastic showing in goal from Hull City stopper Eldin Jakupovic earned the relegation strugglers a deserved point at Old Trafford, much to the disappointment of Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho, who witnessed his side drop another two crucial points, thus missing out on a golden opportunity to close the gap on the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool, who had all dropped points on Tuesday night.

Despite not having the ideal personnel to suit his favoured three central defenders system, back to back defeats against Liverpool and Arsenal, and 9 goals conceded in the last 4 games, forced Chelsea Manager Antonio Conte's hand as the Italian finally switched systems, living up to his promise of providing a solution to the Blues' recent defensive woes.

While Chelsea's defenders struggled in the first half to adapt to the new system, and to deal with Hull City's physical striker Mbokani, the Blues produced a nearly flawless defensive display in the second half, one which no doubt pleased their Italian boss.

A week can be a long time in football, but Chelsea looked set to put their recent defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal behind them as they carved out a hard earned 2-0 victory over Hull City at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday.

Goals from Willian and Diego Costa earned Antonio Conte's side a deserved win, and the Italian wasted little time after the match, praising the efforts of his two goalscorers and star attacker Eden Hazard for the way the trio play for each other and the team.
