World No.3 Milos Raonic secured his place in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open for the third successive year by beating Spanish No.13 seed Roberto Bautista Agut 7-6(6), 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 at Melbourne Park on Monday. Raonic, who hit 75 winners - including 33 aces, won after a two hour-51 minute battle.

"I was very fortunate to get the win today - there were some moments when it wasn't looking so good," Raonic said after the match.

In his last round robin match of Group Ivan Lendl, Novak Djokovic made short work of David Goffin winning 6-1, 6-2 in just over an hour. The Belgian was the alternate for an injured Gael Monfils and his lack of experience with the surroundings was exposed by a rampant Djokovic. The World No.2 broke Goffin four times, won 84% of his first serve points and 62 points to Goffin’s 42 to complete the rout.

The Serb is attempting to finish as year end world no.1 for the 3rd year in a row and needs to finish the tournament better than Murray in order to do so; winning all three of his group matches certainly helps.
