Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday signed Freiburg's attacking midfielder Maximilian Philipp for a reported fee of 20 million euros ($22.47 million) on a five-year deal.

"We are delighted that we have been able to sign Maximilian Philipp, who has been courted by other top flight clubs. He is a versatile attacking midfielder with good finishing qualities and brilliant prospects," Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc said in a statement.

AFC Ajax and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement on the transfer of chief coach Peter Bosz to the German fotball club as successor of Thomas Tuchel, both clubs announced on Tuesday.

The 53-year-old Dutchman will sign a contract until 2019 at Dortmund. His contract at Ajax expired in 2019. Assistant Hendrie Kruzen makes the same step from Ajax to Dortmund.

Bayern Munich crushed Freiburg 4-1 in Philipp Lahm's and Xabi Alonso's farewell game while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang helped Dortmund to beat Werder Bremen 4-3 in the last round of the Bundesliga season.

The "Bavarians", who have already sealed their 27th Bundesliga title on April 29, rounded off the end of the season with a 4-1 victory over Freiburg as Philipp Lahm and Xabi Alonso cap off their careers here on Saturday.

Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund said veteran goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller has agreed to a one-year contract extension, which will keep him with the football club until June 2018.

"Roman has been an integral part of the BVB family for more than a decade. We are very happy that he wants to stand another year between Dortmund's posts." Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc said on Tuesday.

Borussia Dortmund upset a wasteful Bayern Munich with two goals in the second half to book their berth for the German Cup final.

In Wednesday's match, Dortmund grabbed the lead first, but two goals by Bayern turned the tide. However, the German giants left a couple of promising chances unused, allowing Dortmund to secure a 3-2 win and a ticket for the German Cup final in Berlin.

Playing just a day after their team bus was attacked outside the team hotel, it was not easy for Borussia Dortmund's players, Monaco striker Radamel Falcao said.

"It was difficult to deal with everything that happened," Falcao, who captained Monaco, was quoted as saying by ESPNFC.
