Delhi Daredevils rode on an all-round effort to register their second successive win, beating Kings XI Punjab by 51 runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Feroz Shah Kotla on Saturday.

Chasing a mammoth 189, Punjab could never recover from the three early jolts for just 31 runs and were restricted to 137/9.

Returning from an eight-wicket drubbing at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Kings XI Punjab will face a daunting task when they take on a resurgent Delhi Daredevils (DD) in an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 match at the Feroz Shah Kotla on Saturday.

Delhi's confidence got a major boost after the massive 97-run victory against Rising Pune Supergiants on Tuesday, thanks to an all-round show from the likes of centurion Sanju Samson, Chris Morris, skipper Zaheer Khan and leg-spinner Amit Mishra.

Kedar Jadhav's fiery half century helped Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Delhi Daredevils (DD) by 15 runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday.

The Maharashtra batsman not only blasted a quick-fire 37-ball 69, but more importantly shared a 66-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Stuart Binny (16) to help the hosts post a fighting total of 157/7.

In its quest to enter the final for the first time and lift the title that has eluded it over the last nine years, Delhi Daredevils (DD) is hoping to tame hosts Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for a winning start in the 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL-10 T20) Tournament on Saturday.

"Realistically, in T20 anything can happen on any given day. What we are looking for is to put in place our preparation and execute our plans to start the season on a winning note," DD Head Coach Paddy Upton told reporters in Bengaluru ahead of the tie.

The Delhi Daredevils (DD) will have a golden opportunity to kick off their 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign on a winning note when they face an injury-ravaged Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday.

With South African star AB de Villiers still a doubtful starter for Saturday's encounter, and RCB going down to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their opening tie, morale will definitely be on the lower side for last season's runner-up team. Besides de Villiers, the hosts will be without the services of their regular skipper Virat Kohli and opening batsman Lokesh Rahul, which further weakens their batting.

Delhi Daredevils coach Rahul Dravid is hopeful that his team will start their campaign in the 2017 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on a positive note.

Dravid started the first day of training for the 2017 season with a session at the Delhi Daredevils Academy in Palam Vihar. He met the trainees at the academy and interacted with them for close to 90 minutes. The former India captain shared invaluable ideas with the trainees and provided them with advice to deal with match situations.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore were in 7th place in the IPL Standings barely a fortnight back, they completed what has been a rather remarkable turnaround, winning their 5th game on the bounce to take second place and the spoils that go with it by beating the Delhi Daredevils by 6 wickets in the final group stage match of Season 9 of the Indian Premier League.

Their latest win takes RCB up to second spot, which means they will enjoy home comforts when they entertain the table topping Gujarat Lions at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday in the Qualifier for the Final, giving them two bites of the cherry at making the IPL Final. RCB's win also relegates the Sunrisers Hyderabad to third place, forcing them into an instant rematch against the side that beat them earlier today, the Kolkata Knight Riders at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi on Wednesday.
