English Premier League (EPL) leaders Chelsea defeated Southampton 4-2 at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday to boost their advantage over second-place Tottenham Hotspur to seven points, though Spurs have a game in hand.

Chelsea, energised by their 4-2 win over Spurs in last weekend's FA Cup semifinal, got two goals from Diego Costa, who had gone seven matches without scoring.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger enjoyed a rare good day at the office today, masterminding the Gunners' 2-1 win over Manchester City at Wembley, earning a third FA Cup final appearance in four years.

Speaking to the BBC after the game, Wenger said, "I am very pleased, it was a big game today. Overall it was a great performance not only technically but mentally. We became stronger and in the end deserved to win the game. The team performance was there. When the players give their best and are completely focused you always stand up for them. We were close to scoring and on the break they are very good. We lost the ball and conceded the goal but we showed the right response."

Arsenal's hard working superstar Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain put in another man of the match performance as the youngster continued to show his value to the Gunners, playing as right wing back today in the FA Cup semi-final win against Manchester City.

Oxlade-Chamberlain put in a fantastic defensive shift in the first half, keeping Leroy Sane in check, and turned on the after burners in the second half as he helped Arsenal get higher up the pitch.

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte has revealed that benching winger Eden Hazard was part of the plan that ultimately worked during the 4-2 FA Cup semi-final win against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

Hazard and Diego Costa were surprisingly omitted from Chelsea's starting XI on Saturday to take on their bitter London rivals. But the attacking pair made second half appearances with Hazard scoring a stunning goal to give Chelsea a 3-2 lead.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey continued his love affair with Wembley, and the Welshman will be hoping to add to his FA Cup winners' medals tally when the Gunners take on Chelsea in the final of the competition come the end of May.

Speaking after Arsenal's 2-1 win over Manchester City in the semi-final today, Ramsey told BBC Radio 5 live, "I love this competition. We have been quite successful in recent years and you can see the passion that the players play with. We went behind and kept on going and got a result.

Tottenham Hotspur football club have announced that their under-23 coach, Ugo Ehiogu, passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest at the club's training ground.

Aged 44, Ehiogu, the former England and Aston Villa defender was on the training field on Thursday morning when he collapsed. Tottenham's medical team rushed to treat him while an ambulance and a medical assistance car were scrambled to him. Ehiogu received round-the-clock treatment at the hospital but he could not be saved.

Former England players Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard, legends of Chelsea and Liverpool, will be inducted in the National Football Museum Hall of Fame in September, the museum announced on Thursday.

Several United Kingdom football legends will also be introduced, including late Wales manager Gary Speed, West Ham legend Billy Bonds, Arsenal long-time goalkeeper Bob Wilson, and historic Manchester United player Charlie Roberts.
