In a wild ending at Qualcomm Stadium on Sunday evening, the U.S. Women's National Team scored three goals in nine minutes at the end of the match to overturn a 3-1 deficit and earn a thrilling 4-3 win against Brazil.

Australia leads the Tournament of Nations after a 4-2 victory against Japan in the first game of the day, but the win keeps the USA alive for the tournament title. All four teams now head north for the conclusion of the competition on Aug. 3 at StubHub Center in Carson, Calif., as Australia takes on Brazil (4:15 p.m. PT on ESPN3) and the USA faces Japan (7 p.m. PT on ESPN2 and UDN).

Brazil thrashed Australia 4-0 in a football friendly on Tuesday - ahead of the FIFA Confederations Cup beginning in Russia from June 17.

It seemed as if coach Tite's team, which lost to Argentina 1-0 on Friday, had no time to lose. Diego Souza scored the first of his brace just 10 seconds into the first half from a low shot from inside the area.

Argentina topped Brazil 1-0 in a friendly on Friday, auspiciously kicking off Jorge Sampaoli's tenure as head coach of the Albiceleste.

Defender Gabriel Mercado got the lone goal of the contest in the 44th minute. He finished off a play that was set up by a brilliant pass from Angel Di Maria to Nicolas Otamendi, whose bouncing header hit the upright and ricocheted to the Sevilla defender for an easy score.

Brazil have earned a place in the Davis Cup World Group play-offs after by taking an unassailable 3-0 lead over Ecuador in their Americas Zone second round clash.

Marcelo Melo and Bruno Soares secured victory in the tie - being played 2,500m above sea level in the Ecuadorian Andes - by defeating Gonzalo Escobar and Roberto Quiroz 6-3, 6-4, 6-3 in their doubles rubber on Saturday.

Goals from Philippe Coutinho, Neymar and Marcelo fired Brazil to a 3-0 victory over Paraguay in their World Cup qualifier as the Selecao extended their winning run to eight matches. The result at Corinthians Arena here on Tuesday lifted Brazil to 33 points from 14 matches and all but guaranteed the five-time world champions a place at football's showpiece tournament in Russia next year.

Earlier, Argentina's shaky qualifying campaign continued when they stumbled to a 2-0 loss to Bolivia in La Paz. The defeat came just hours after Lionel Messi was given a four-match ban by the FIFA disciplinary committee for abusing a linesman in the Albiceleste's 1-0 victory over Chile last week.

Guangzhou Evergrande midfielder Paulinho bagged a hat-trick as Brazil edged closer to qualifying for next year's football World Cup with a 4-1 victory over Uruguay. Barcelona forward Neymar also netted for the five-time World Cup winners while Edinson Cavani was on the scoresheet for the hosts on Thursday.

It was Brazil's seventh straight win under coach Tite, who remains unbeaten since taking over from Dunga after the team's group-stage elimination from last year's Copa America.
