A host of big names seem to be on their way out of Liverpool and Pepe Reina tops that list. The Sunday Mirror reports that the Spaniard shot stopper is swapping Anfield for the Camp Nou and Brendan Rodgers is ready with a replacement for Reina, in the form of Simon Mignolet for a reported fee of £6.5 million.

Mignolet, a Belgian international, has been frustrated by the continued dominance of Thibaut Courtois in the national team. The player believes that the Black Cats do not provide him a similar kind of stage to showcase his abilities to the national coaches as Courtois gets at Atletico Madrid. Mignolet, as it appears, wants to move to a bigger club so as to provide stiff competition to Courtois for the national team starting spot.

Chelsea youngster Kevin de Bruyne has drawn heavy attention during his loan spell at Werder Bremen this season. Bremen are keen on a permanent deal while their Bundesliga opponents Bayer Leverkusen are also plotting a move for the Belgian. De Bruyne’s performances have seen him make the first team for Belgium too but amid all the hype, his future at Stamford Bridge remains shrouded in doubt.

De Bruyne made the move to Chelsea a little over a year ago and after a lack of first team opportunities, he moved to Bremen on a season-long loan. The winger has shone in his time at Bremen, netting 6 goals and making 8 assists, having started all their league games. However, the player is unsure about a return to Chelsea at the end of the season although he feels he has done enough to merit a first team role at the West London club.

The 2014 World Cup qualifiers continued to produce fireworks across Europe as the continental giants took the field for the last round of qualifiers for the calendar year. England will still have to turn out later tonight as their clash against Poland in Warsaw was abandoned due to a water-logged pitch caused by heavy rainfall, with the players unable to even conduct their pre-match training routine.

Events at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin more than made up for the dampener at Warsaw as Sweden produced one of the greatest comebacks in recent times as they clawed back from being 4-0 down to draw 4-4 against a shell-shocked Germany. Miroslav Klose’s early brace combined with Per Mertesacker’s goal before half-time gave the home side a commanding 3-0 lead, which was further consolidated by Mesut Ozil’s strike ten minutes into the 2nd half.

The International break is a manager's nightmare across the European leagues, but the round of World Cup qualifiers last night at least provided great entertainment to football fans across the world. The big guns enjoyed a stroll in the park as victories by huge margins were the theme of the night, with England, Spain, Germany and Netherlands all notched up massive wins. England moved atop Group H after their 5-0 thumping of San Marino while Germany hammered Republic of Ireland 6-1 in Group C. The Spanish Armada rolled along with a 4-0 triumph over Belarus, but their Iberian rivals Portugal had an evening to forget as they were shocked 1-0 by Russia. The Dutch secured an important 3-0 win at Andorra to stay ahead of Romania in Group D while in Group A, Scotland were undone 2-1 by rivals Wales in dramatic fashion.

Wayne Rooney responded to being handed the captain's armband by netting a brace at Wembley to help England get back on track after their draw with Ukraine in the previous round. Rooney opened the scoring from the penalty spot ten minutes before the break and his strike was soon followed by Danny Welbeck's goal as the Man United pair came to the fore. The pair again scored in quick succession after the break as England went 4-0 up by the 71st minute, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain rounding off the scoring with his 1st senior goal for the Three Lions. England's comfortable combined with Ukraine's draw against Moldova puts them in pole position in Group H, three points ahead of Montenegro who have a game in hand.

Manchester United are closely monitoring the events at Everton surrounding Marouane Fellaini as Sir Alex Ferguson keeps an eye on one of his biggest tormentors. During the just concluded international break, the Belgian appeared to indicate he would leave Goodison Park sometime in the near future, even this winter possibly.

Manchester United, who know the player all too well through the suffering at his hands, are one of the front runners if a deal is to be made. Only last month, United were out muscled by the Belgian in a 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park as his aerial strength and physicality proved too much to handle for the fragile United defence.

David Moyes was quick to react to the player's comments, first sternly addressing Fellaini's indiscretion and then refuting suggestions that the club would sell one of their biggest and most effective assets.

The final practice session at the Belgian Grand Prix was a closely contested affair as Fernando Alonso drove his Prancing Horse to the top of the timesheets with a blistering 1.48.542 lap. Kimi Raikkonen finished the session 2nd fastest as he continued his love affair with the legendary circuit.

The Sauber duo of Sergio Perez and Kamui Kobayashi finished the session in 3rd and 4th places respectively while Jenson Button in his McLaren rounded off the top 5, nosing ahead of Felipe Massa, Mark Webber, Romain Grosjean and last but not the least reigning World Champion Sebastian Vettel.

Romelu Lukaku will be going out on loan this coming season, his agent confirmed, but Fulham have been ruled out as a possible destination for the Chelsea striker. The 19 year old has been desperate for first-team action, something he hasn't been able to achieve at Stamford Bridge since his £18m move from Anderlecht last summer. Lukaku has featured heavily during the club's pre-season programmer but a loan spell away from the club was always going to be the most feasible solution.

There were wide-spread reports that Fulham had bagged the Belgian on a season-long loan, but his agent Christophe Henrotay rubbished those rumours as ESPN quote him saying: “I can assure you that Romelu is not going to Fulham.”
