In-form Mumbai Indians (MI) are all set to take on bottom-placed Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday. The Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai are on the second spot with seven wins in nine matches, while lacklustre Bangalore are at seventh spot after having won just two of their 10 games.

Mumbai, who have virtually qualified for the knock-out stage of the cash-rich tournament will have an advantage as the hosts have just lost one game on their home ground.

A down but not yet out Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are betting on big hitter Chris Gayle to return to form against Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL-10) game at the Chinnaswamy stadium on Sunday night.

"As Chris (Gayle) is hitting the ball very well in the nets, he is not far from making a big score, and hopefully it happens tomorrow (Sunday)," RCB batting and fielding coach Trent Woodhill told reporters on Saturday at a pre-match presser.

Kieran Pollard's 70 runs in 47 deliveries helped Mumbai Indians withstand a fiery spell, including a hat-trick, from leg-spinner Samuel Badree as the visitors registered a four-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to go top of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with six points on Friday.

In pursuit of RCB's 142/5, Mumbai had a horrendous start as Badree snared a hat-trick in the third over, removing Parthiv Patel (3), Mitchell McClanaghan (0) and Rohit Sharma (0) to plunge the visitors to 7/4, with opener Jos Buttler (2) already being dismissed by Stuart Binny in the second over.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad edged home favourites Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 runs in a thrilling final to be crowned the 2016 Indian Premier League Champions. In what was a terrific advertisement for the game, more than 400 runs were scored and 14 wickets fell as an entertaining contest went down to the final over with Bhuvneshwar Kumar holding his nerve, not for the first time this season, to defend the 18 runs his teammates had left him with to bowl his side to a deserving win.

Hyderabad won the toss and surprised everyone by opting to bat first. The visitors got off to a solid start with David Warner in excellent form, smashing 69 off 38 balls. The Sunrisers' skipper shared a 69 run stand for the opening wicket with Shikhar Dhawan, who chipped in with 28.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore made it 6 wins on the trot, stunning the table topping Gujarat Lions by 4 wickets in a nerve wracking Qualifier to advance to their third ever IPL Final.

RCB looked dead and buried at 29-5 in the powerplay as they attempted to score the 159 runs necessary to advance to the IPL Final, but a classy unbeaten 79 off just 47 balls from AB de Villiers, and his 91 run partnership for the 7th wicket with Iqbal Abdulla (33* off 25 balls) took the Royal Challengers to victory with 10 balls to spare.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore were in 7th place in the IPL Standings barely a fortnight back, they completed what has been a rather remarkable turnaround, winning their 5th game on the bounce to take second place and the spoils that go with it by beating the Delhi Daredevils by 6 wickets in the final group stage match of Season 9 of the Indian Premier League.

Their latest win takes RCB up to second spot, which means they will enjoy home comforts when they entertain the table topping Gujarat Lions at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday in the Qualifier for the Final, giving them two bites of the cherry at making the IPL Final. RCB's win also relegates the Sunrisers Hyderabad to third place, forcing them into an instant rematch against the side that beat them earlier today, the Kolkata Knight Riders at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi on Wednesday.
