The Royal Challengers Bangalore got a much needed win under their belt, hammering the table topping Rajasthan Royals by 9 wickets in a non-contest in Bengaluru.

Having been put into bat by RCB, the Rajasthan Royals struggled to 130-9 in their 20 overs with Mitchell Starc and Harshal Patel doing the bulk of the damage, sharing 5 wickets between them.

In what was arguably the most enjoyable game in Season 8 of the Indian Premier League thus far, the Kings XI Punjab handed the Rajasthan Royals their first defeat of the campaign, needing a super over to upset the runaway IPL leaders.

The Kings XI Punjab won the toss and elected to send the Rajasthan Royals in to bat, a decision they were soon left to rue as the home-less Royals shared a 95-run stand for the opening wicket with Shane Watson (45) and Ajinkya Rahane (74) continuing from where they left off in the last game.

Fantastic half-centuries from openers Ajinkya Rahane (76* from 56 balls) and Shane Watson (73 from 47 balls) helped the Rajasthan Royals thump the Chennai Super Kings by 8 wickets in the battle of the two unbeaten sides in IPL Season 8.

The flip of the coin went the way of the Chennai Super Kings, who had absolutely no hesitation in opting to bat first on a very warm afternoon in Ahmedabad. The Super Kings came into this side unchanged, but the Royals did tinker around with their playing eleven with Shane Watson returning to captain the side and Tim Southee the foreign player forced to make way. The Royals also brought in rookie left arm spinner Ankit Sharma into the side for the excellent Dhawal Kulkarni, who was unfortunate to be dropped after taking 2-9 from his 3 overs in the last game.

Lady luck continues to reside as far away from the Delhi Daredevils' camp as possible as the home side suffered their 2nd straight last ball defeat in this season's IPL and were also as a result condemned to an 11th loss in a row, going all the way back to last season.

The Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to chase in the 4pm kick-off at the Feroz Shah Kotla. The Delhi team had three changes with allrounder Angelo Mathews replacing Albie Morkel, who came within a run of winning the last game for the Daredevils. Additionally, Jaydev Unadkat and Manoj Tiwary came in for CM Gautam and Domnic Muthuswami. Gautam sitting out meant that Delhi used a part-time keeper in Kedar Jadhav behind the stumps. The Rajasthan Royals meanwhile were unchanged, which meant no Shane Watson in this game either.

A fantastic all round performance from Australia's World Cup star James Faulkner allowed former champions the Rajasthan Royals to script a comfortable 26 run win against a power-packed Kings XI Punjab outfit that just failed to fire on the day.

Sent into bat after losing the toss, Rajasthan posted a competitive total of 162-7 on the board thanks to a late flourish from James Faulkner (46) and Deepak Hooda (30), with the duo adding 51 runs in 6 overs after the top order had lost its way and slid to 75-5 at the half-way stage of the innings.

Pune is the venue for Game 3 of the Indian Premier League with the Rajasthan Royals playing 'host' to the Kings XI Punjab.

The flip of the coin went the way of the visitors, who slightly surprisingly invited the Rajasthan Royals to have a bat. The Royals come into this game without skipper Shane Watson, and have Aussie sensation Steve Smith leading the line instead.
