Defending Copa America Champions Chile advanced to the Final of the competition for the second straight year, where once again they face the might of Argentina in a rematch of last year's final.

Argentina had already booked their place in the final courtesy of a 4-0 thumping of hosts USA, and Chile joined them in the final courtesy of a 2-0 win over Colombia in a weather threatened affair where the match had to be delayed for close to 2 hours due to lightning.

The Copa America Local Organizing Committee (LOC) confirmed today the official pairings and kickoff times of the two Copa America Centenario semifinal matches.

United States will face Argentina at NRG Stadium in Houston on Tuesday, June 21, while Colombia and Chile will play the following day, June 22 at Chicago's Soldier Field.

The Colombian people are anxiously awaiting the game against Peru in the 2016 Centennial Copa America quarter-finals to be held on Friday, international media reported.

According to Cuban news agency Prensa Latina, Colombian people are anxious ahead of the match and most of them think the national team will win despite Colombia's poor performance in the last first-round game against Costa Rica.

Costa Rica defeated Colombia 3-2 in a Group A Copa America Centenario football tournament match at the NRG stadium. The first goal was scored by Johan Venegas who put Costa Rica up 1-0 with a 20-yard strike to the upper left hand corner in the second minute on Saturday.

Costa Rica took the lead when Venegas crossed the ball into the box from the left and Colombia's Frank Fabra accidentally ran into it and knocked it into the net as he fell to the ground for an own goal in the 34th minute.

Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez who fought pain to net a winner and send his side to the Copa America quarter-finals said he will always be committed to his country.

The Real Madrid man was hurt during Tuesday's encounter at the Rose Bowl against Paraguay but he inspired Colombia to a 2-1 victory.

Real Madrid star James Rodriguez and Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina were the stars of the show for Colombia as they managed to hold off a late challenge from Paraguay to win 2-1 and become the first team to book passage into the Copa America Centenario quarter-finals.

Rodriguez was Colombia's catalyst, his corner to Carlos Bacca in the 12th minute resulting in Colombia's first goal at the Rose Bowl stadium on Tuesday. Rodriguez then scored his team's second goal in the 30th minute. James was a doubt for the match with a shoulder injury, but shrugged it off to make coach Jose Pekerman's starting line-up.

Team USA put in a strong effort against one of the tournament favorites but allowed two goals on set plays and fell 2-0 to Colombia before a sellout crowd of 67,439 at Levi's Stadium in the opening match of the 2016 Copa America Centenario.

First half goals from Colombia's Cristián Zapata in the 8th minute off a corner kick and James Rodriguez in the 42nd from the penalty spot forced the USA to chase the game, but despite an 11-8 advantage in shots, the Americans could not cut into that lead.
