Man United and Liverpool overtaken by AC Milan in chase for Dede

Vasco Da Gama’s highly-acclaimed centre-back Dede has been placed firmly in the shop window by the cash-strapped Brazilians, reports the Express. Man United and Liverpool have been scouting Dede for a while now but the English giants have seemingly been overtaken by AC Milan as Vasco’s president said this: “There is a price. You need to see if Milan intends to reach that number, then we talk. Of course, the player likes Milan and the club has a great charm.”

Brendan Rodgers has been told to clear plenty of high wage earners at the club before splashing further money in the summer, prompting the Liverpool boss to offer Martin Skrtel to anyone willing to listen. Arsenal in surprising Edin Dzeko link

Not happy with possessing a fair share of goal-shy attacking talent, Arsene Wenger is said to be interested in taking Edin Dzeko to the Emirates according to the Express. Arsenal already have Lukas Podolski, Gervinho and Olivier Giroud in the realm of players with great approach play but lacking in clinical finishing touch and to cure them of that illness, Wenger wants to get the reluctantly titled ‘Super Sub’ from Man City. Roberto Mancini will discard most of his squad in the summer but the chances of the Bosnian, who cost £27m, ending up in North-London seems remote.

Man United keen on ex-Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic

As the hopes of a long-awaited FA Cup trophy evaporated at Stamford Bridge on Monday night, Sir Alex Ferguson cast his memory back to when Chelsea possessed a Serbian midfielder by the name of Nemanja Matic. The Man United manager was then subsequently informed that the 24 year old currently plies his trade at Benfica and has a whopping £38m release clause in his contract. The TalkSport reckon the Red Devils are still eager to land the solid midfielder, although Victor Wanyama and Kevin Strootman have also been in that pool for a long time now.

Next Chelsea manager to decide Thibaut Courtois’ future

The revolving managerial door at Chelsea has meant that young players in the squad are never sure of their position at the club and 20 year old stopper Thibaut Courtois is caught in a similar position as the Belgian has spent the last 2 years on loan at Atletico Madrid and is unsure whether he will ever play for the Blues. There is no shortage of interest in Courtois, within La Liga and across Europe, but the suitors have to wait a while longer as the 2011 Europa League winner is quoted by ESPN saying: “It was thought there would be some news around now, at the start of April, but Chelsea have asked for a bit more time. They are in the process of signing a new manager. They want to consult with him about next season.”

Chelsea plan audacious bid for Yaya Toure

Chelsea are warming up to the FA Cup semi-final against Man City by tracking their most important player as the Express report that the Blues have their eye son Yaya Toure. The Ivorian’s contrast battle with City is well-documented and Chelsea have now joined Anzhi in the hope of enticing the highly-paid midfielder to ditch the Etihad. City want to trim the excess fat in their squad over the summer but Toure definitely doesn’t fall under the liposuction category.

Rafa Benitez can finally see the light at the end of the interim tunnel at Chelsea as reports from England suggest that Roman Abramovich and co are seriously considering offering the Spaniard the permanent managerial position, provided he wins the FA Cup and importantly finishes in the Top Four.
