A fantastic showing in goal from Hull City stopper Eldin Jakupovic earned the relegation strugglers a deserved point at Old Trafford, much to the disappointment of Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho, who witnessed his side drop another two crucial points, thus missing out on a golden opportunity to close the gap on the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool, who had all dropped points on Tuesday night.

United had the best chances, but in the end were perhaps a little lucky to leave with a point with Liverpool loanee Lazar Markovic almost stealing all three points for the visitors, only to see his effort hit the post with David de Gea well beaten in the Red Devils' goal.

Chelsea Manager Antonio Conte was largely in a positive mood despite seeing his side miss the opportunity to extend their lead in the Premier League title race to double digits as striker Diego Costa's poorly struck 76th minute penalty was saved by goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, thus earning Liverpool a 1-1 draw at Anfield.

Conte shared after the game, "I think at the end of the match we could have won. It was a very tough game, both teams tried to play with intensity. I'm pleased. We saw a different game to when we played Liverpool and lost at home."

Simon Mignolet may have redeemed himself in the eyes of Liverpool's fans with his good save in the second half to keep out Diego Costa's penalty, a crucial outcome in tonight's game as it earned the Reds a 1-1 draw at home against Chelsea, but in the eyes of his Manager, there was not much that Mignolet could have done to keep out David Luiz's first half effort.

Brazilian defender Luiz, usually behind compatriot Willian in the Chelsea freekick pecking order, took a quick freekick that beat Mignolet in the 24th minute even as the Reds' keeper was preparing his wall as Chelsea drew first blood in the game.
