Real Madrid have agreed to loan out midfielder Lucas Silva to his original team Cruzeiro, both football clubs have confirmed.

The 23-year-old will spend the next 18 months with the Brazilian Serie A outfit as he attempts to revive his stalled career, it was said on Tuesday, reports Xinhua.

Both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have injury problems to deal with ahead of their respective Spanish football league matches on Sunday.

Barcelona have to recover quickly from their efforts in Thursday's King's Cup triumph over Real Sociedad, while coach Luis Enrique will also have half an eye on next Wednesday's semi-final away against Atletico Madrid as he prepares for the trip to play Real Betis in Seville. Betis are unbeaten in their four home games to date since Victor Sanchez took over as coach and the Benito Villamarin Stadium has traditionally been a hostile place for Barcelona to visit.

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane keept a brave face despite seeing his side's hopes of winning three trophies evaporated with a 3-4 aggregate defeat to Celta Vigo in the King's Cup football tournament. A thrilling return leg in Vigo ended 2-2 on Wednesday. Celta won 2-1 in Madrid a week ago.

"I think that what we have to do now is rest and realise that the Cup is in the past and that we have a league game ahead of us (against Real Sociedad) on Sunday," said Zidane.

A 2-2 draw in an entertaining match on Wednesday in Celta's Balaidos Stadium was enough to see Celta into the semi-finals following their 2-1 win in the Santiago Bernabeu a week ago.

Real Madrid's 33-year-old central defender Pepe will join Chinese Super League side Hebei China Fortune when his contract expires at the end of June, according to a Spanish media report on Wednesday.

Real Madrid's chances of winning the Copa del Rey suffered a huge blow as they were beaten 1-2 at home by an impressive Celta Vigo in the first leg of their quarter-final tie.

Madrid controlled parts of the game, but were caught on the break by their rivals on Wednesday. They will now have to score at least two goals in next week's return leg away from home after their second defeat in two games after their 40-game ended away to Sevilla on Sunday night.
