Manchester City made the most of a midweek series of games that saw all of their rivals in the top 6 in the Premier League drop points, thrashing West Ham United 4-0 at the Olympic Stadium with Gabriel Jesus opening his account for the Citizens after star striker Sergio Aguero was left on the bench.

And with the former Atletico Madrid man himself wishful of moving to Spain to live with his partner and daughter, Real may try to make the most of the situation by landing him at the Santiago Bernabeu in the days to come.

A goal each from returning cult hero Diego Costa and on pitch skipper Gary Cahill powered Chelsea to a 2-0 win over a relegation threatened Hull City side that competed well against the Premier League leaders for large periods, but lacked that cutting edge in the final third to convert good play into goals.
