The England national football team will play Spain in a friendly match at the historic Wembley Stadium in London on November 15, the England Football Association has announced today.

The fixture is England's last of 2016 and comes four days after Sam Allardyce's side host Scotland in a World Cup qualifier.

Wins over Spain and France on the opening day of the Rugby Sevens tournament at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro confirmed Team South Africa's credentials as medal contenders in a day highlighted by upsets, as rugby returned to the Games for the first time in 92 years.

Team South Africa opened their pool B campaign against Spain with a 24-0 win, before a commanding first half saw then ease into a 26-0 win over France, to top pool B after Day One. With two wins, South Africa confirmed their continued presence in the medal section of the tournament, as the win secured them a place in the quarterfinals, to be played on Wednesday.

The top-ranked Australian men's hockey team was stunned by World No.11 Spain 1-0 in a Pool A match at the Rio Olympics.

Spanish point guard Jose Calderon has that the Rio Olympics men's basketball tournament was up for grabs and that "in one game anyone can beat anyone".

Spain is in Group B and will play its opening game against Croatia on Sunday evening, followed by contests against Brazil on Tuesday, Nigeria on Thursday, Lithuania on August 13 and Argentina on August 15, reports Tass.

The national capital is all set to host five-time champions Spain on the hard courts of the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association in the Davis Cup World Group Play-off tie, to be played on September 16-18.

All India Tennis Association (AITA) General Secretary Bharat Ozha said keeping in mind the ongoing monsoon and the time constraint involved in preparing an alternative grass court venue, they decided to host the tournament at the DLTA.
