Spain's Rafael Nadal and Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro are among the players who will compete at next year's Mexican Open in the Pacific port city of Acapulco.

30-year-old Nadal, the champion in Acapulco in 2005 and 2013, will be vying for his third title at the event, which will be held from February 27 to March 4, 2017, tournament director Raul Zurutuza said in a press conference in Mexico City on Tuesday.

Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal has denied accusations of illegal doping after being named in the latest series of leaks by the Russian hacker group 'Fancy Bears'.

The group claims to have breached the files of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and uncovered the identities of athletes permitted to take prohibited products for supposedly therapeutic reasons.

Tennis superstar Rafael Nadal on Friday pulled out of Spain's Davis Cup World Group Play-off opening singles match against India due to a stomach bug.

"Change of nomination for the singles rubbers in New Delhi as Feliciano Lopez replaces Rafa Nadal," Davis Cup's official Twitter account said.

India face an uphill battle when they take on former champions Spain in a Davis Cup World Group Play-off tie at the R.K. Khanna Tennis Stadium in New Delhi from Friday. Although expected to breeze past the Indian team without breaking much sweat, Spain have brought over their top guns for this tie.

Spain, five-time Davis Cup champions, have been out of the World Group for the last couple of years, having suffered shock defeats to Brazil and Germany.

The star-studded Spanish tennis squad arrived in New Delhi on Monday ahead of their Davis Cup World Group play-off tie against India.

The Spanish squad, which includes the likes of 14-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal and World No.13 David Ferrer, got down to business straight away after landing in the capital in the morning, taking to the courts at the DLTA complex for a practice session in evening.

French tennis player Lucas Pouille defeated 14-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal over five sets, 6-1, 2-6, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (6), to reach the US Open quarter-finals at Flushing Meadows, New York.

"It took everything. I could not dream better than that," Pouille, the 22-year-old, said of his victory on Sunday. The match lasted four hours and seven minutes and it was decided by a fifth set tie-breaker. In the final-set tiebreak, Pouille held a 6-3 lead, with three match points on his racket before Nadal battled back to level it at 6-all.

American tennis player Jack Sock upset 2014 champion Marin Cilic of Croatia in surprisingly routine fashion, breezing into the US Open pre-quarterfinals with a 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 victory, while big names Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal also progressed to the Round of 16.

The 26th-seeded Sock, who is known for his huge forehand and big serve but not for a stellar return game, on Friday broke Cilic's serve four times in three sets to win in an hour and 41 minutes at the Louis Armstrong Stadium. Sock completely dominated his own service games, not facing a single break point in the contest.
