Juventus' seasoned central defender Leonardo Bonucci signed a contract extension till 2021 on Monday, shunning reported offers from English football giants Manchester City and Chelsea.

"I renewed until 2021. I chose the house where I grew up and became great among the great. Still wear my 19 with pride juventus. Still, until the end, only one goal: to continue to win! #Lb19 #Bonucci2021," the 29-year-old wrote on Facebook.

Ten-man Sevilla slipped to a 1-3 home defeat to Italian football champions Juventus in a hard-fought Champions League match. Sevilla had to play for 55 minutes with 10 men after Fran Vazquez was sent off here on Tuesday.

Despite a brave performance, Spanish side Sevilla failed to hold on to the lead, obtained in the first half, against the Italian champions. With the win, Juventus assured themselves a place in the second round.

A left thigh injury has ruled out Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain from the crucial Champions League group stage clash against Spanish football club Sevilla on Tuesday.

Juventus are already without the injured forward duo of Paulo Dybala and Marko Pjaca. And with Higuain also injured, thanks to an injury during their 3-0 win over Pescara in the Serie A on Saturday, the Turin heavyweights are only left with a sole fit striker in Croatian Mario Mandzukic.

Former Manchester United skipper Patrice Evra was on Monday called up by France's football squad to replace the injured Layvin Kurzawa.

Paris Saint-Germain defender Kurzawa underwent a medical examination on Monday at France camp outside Paris, while the medical staff recommended the exclusion of the 24-year-old from his national team.

Italian football champions Juventus on Monday confirmed that veteran defender Andrea Barzagli has been ruled out of action for at least two months due to his left shoulder injury.

"Further examinations have confirmed the scale of the shoulder injury sustained by Andrea Barzagli five minutes into Sunday's victory over Chievo in Verona," Juventus said in a statement.

Juventus director Beppe Marotta on Sunday hinted that the Italian football champions may sign Boca Juniors' young midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur next summer.

Juventus have a first refusal option to sign the 19-year-old Uruguayan as part of the deal in which they sold veteran striker Carlos Tevez to the Argentine club.
