Atletico Madrid's Argentine coach Diego Simeone may introduce changes to his usual starting line-up during Wednesday's La Liga match against champions FC Barcelona.

The match will be played at Barcelona's home ground at the Camp Nou stadium, and the team may include Gabi in place of Nico Gaitan and Juanfran Torres instead of Sime Vrsaljko.

Goals from James Rodriguez and Karim Benzema have given Real Madrid their fourth league win of the season to keep them top of the La Liga table. Real Madrid were without Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale on Sunday night, but coach Zinedine Zidane still decided to leave Alvaro Morata on the bench for the trip to Barcelona to face Espanyol, allowing James Rodriguez to make his first start of the season.

He was rewarded when James opened the scoring on the stroke of halftime with a left foot shot. Karim Benzema then sealed the win after good work from Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez 20 minutes from time.

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone confirmed that he and his club had reached an agreement during the summer to reduce his contract by two years. The decision happened in the wake of Atletico's defeat to Real Madrid in last season's Champions League final.


Earlier, Simeone had openly doubted his stay at Atletico following his side's second final defeat to their neighbors in three years. Now, his contract was shortened to expire in June 2018 rather than in June 2020.

Atletico Madrid started their 2016-17 UEFA Champions League campaign with a narrow 1-0 win against PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands, with Saul Niguez scoring the match winner.

Niguez, who also scored in last year's semi-final victory over Bayern Munich, on Tuesday converted a rebound with a volley after PSV defender Joshua Brenet blocked his first effort following Gabi's corner in the 43rd minute.

Atletico de Madrid football club's Argentine coach Diego Simeone said he is satisfied with the club's first victory in La Liga this season over Celta Vigo, noting that the 4-0 win was made "in a very difficult field" and against a strong rival.

French striker Antoine Griezmann scored a brace as capital club Atletico de Madrid thrashed Celta Vigo 4-0 on Saturday to achieve their first win of the new La Liga season after three games.

With this win, Atletico now have five points, provisionally occupying the fourth position, while Celta are at the bottom of the La Liga standings with no points.
