Delhi Dynamos coach Gianluca Zambrotta urged his strikers to fire and get their campaign back on track against struggling FC Pune City in an Indian Super League (ISL) football clash on Thursday.

Dynamos began the tournament with a 3-1 demolition of defending champions Chennaiyin FC in their opening game.

Ten-man Atletico de Kolkata (ATK) recorded their first home victory, riding on Iain Hume's late penalty to down Delhi Dynamos 1-0 in an Indian Super League (ISL) football match on Saturday. Hume scored from the penalty spot in the 78th minute to become the highest scorer in ISL's history at the Rabindra Sarovar Stadium.

Portuguese centre-back Henrique Sereno was sent off minutes before the goal for two bookings in the match. He brought down Richard Gadze inside the box being the last defender inside the penalty box. Brazilian Marcelo Pereira missed the resultant penalty, scuffing his shot over the bar.

Eight-time champions Karnataka galloped to the top of the table, inflicting a humiliating innings and 160-run defeat on a hapless Delhi team in a Group B Ranji Trophy cricket encounter at the Eden Gardens on Saturday.

The Karun Nair-led outfit took a lead of 324 runs at stumps on Day Two on Friday, posting a mammoth 414 runs on the board in reply to Delhi's paltry 90 in the first innings. The Delhi batsmen imploded once again in spectacular fashion on the third day of play on Saturday, handing their rivals all seven points from an outright win, with a day still remaining to be played.

Karnataka rode on a collective batting effort to reach a commanding position with a 324-run first innings lead over Delhi on the second day of their Ranji Trophy group B match on Friday.

Resuming at 131 for three, Karnataka stretched their first innings to 414 when the last batsman Sreenath Aravind (14) got out. With only one over left to be bowled for the day, the umpires drew the stumps at the Eden Gardens.

Atletico de Kolkata will have more than just a point to prove as they tackle Delhi Dynamos in an intriguing Hero Indian Super League clash at Rabindra Sarobar Stadium, Kolkata, on Saturday.

In the last two years of the Indian Super League, Atletico de Kolkata – who emerged champions in 2014 – have conquered every opponent in ISL, except for Delhi Dynamos. In four matches between these two teams, ATK have scored just twice against Delhi Dynamos, the lowest they have managed to score against any opponent.

Poor batting display by Delhi saw them being skittled out for a paltry 90 before Karnataka batsmen applied themselves much better to take a 41-run lead in their Ranji Trophy cricket tie at the Eden Gardens on Thursday. At stumps, Karanataka were 131/3 in 52 overs with Nair (three not out) and nightwatchman Abhimanyu Mithun (seven not out) at the crease. This is Delhi's lowest total against Karnakata in Ranji Trophy matches.

On a good track, which aided the spinners, Delhi failed to display the temperament as Rishabh Pant (24) and Dhruv Shorey (24) were the top-scorers for the capital side.
