Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola feels English footballers are too expensive.

Manchester City walked away with a comfortable 2-0 win against hosts Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, thus regaining third place in the Premier League standings.

Argentine striker Sergio Aguero opened the scoring for the Citizens in the 42nd minute from a cross from Raheem Sterling. Sterling found Aguero in the box and the Argentine did not hesitate in popping the ball over goalkeeper Jordan Pickford at the near post.

Manchester City chief coach Pep Guardiola has insisted that Argentina striker Sergio Aguero will stay at the football club.

"I spoke ten times about this, you know my opinion. I cannot answer at every press conference about Aguero, He is so happy, so are we," said Gaurdiola at a press conference on Friday ahead of Sunday's English Premier League (EPL) match against bottom side Sunderland.

Brazil football team head coach Tite has recalled forward Diego Souza and midfielder Diego for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Paraguay later this month. Souza, who netted 31 goals for Brazil's Sport Recife last year, on Friday replaced injured Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus while former Atletico Madrid player Diego was rewarded for his outstanding form with Flamengo.

Both players impressed during Brazil's 1-0 victory over Colombia in an unofficial friendly in January to raise money for the Chapecoense air crash.

Valencia dominated Leganes 1-0 in a match that was far more lopsided than the score would indicate. Only a fine performance by visiting goalkeeper Herrerin on Tuesday prevented a rout in the mid-week La Liga clash.

While the hosts dominated possession from the start, their first chance didn't come until the 20th minute. Herrerin's quick reaction forced Bakkali to shoot well wide of the net.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has hinted that he may not recall England goalkeeper Joe Hart to the club at the end of the season.

Guardiola had dropped Hart as the team's first choice goalkeeper before the start of the current season and brought in Claudio Bravo from FC Barcelona to be replacement. Bravo was later superseded by Argentine goalkeeper Willy Caballero during the season.

Italian football team manager Gabriele Oriali has asserted that striker Mario Balotelli's possible return to the national squad may be affected by his poor on-field discipline this season. Balotelli, who has scored nine league goals so far for French Ligue 1 side Nice, has picked up three red cards this season.

Oriali on Tuesday emphasised the team's code of ethics in front of reporters.
