Chelsea eased past Middlesbrough 3-0 to move within three points of clinching their second English Premier League (EPL) title in three years, while consigning the visitors to relegation.

Following Monday's win, Chelsea have 84 points from 35 matches and are seven points ahead of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur and can win the league on Friday with an away victory over West Bromwich Albion.

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has said he might not leave the capital football club for China at the end of the season. But Chinese Super League club Tianjin Quanjian are confident of landing the Spain striker this summer, although they say no talks have yet taken place, according to a report in Sky Sports.

Chelsea head Antonio Conte has repeatedly said he cannot guarantee Costa will stay, but in the meantime the Italian has continued to pick his top scorer on the English Premier League run-in.

Record European football champions Real Madrid are closing in on a deal to sign highly rated Brazilian teenager Vinicius Junior, according to media reports in Brazil.

The Spanish giants have offered Vinicius Junior's club Flamengo 45 million euros ($49.4 million) to bring the striker to Europe this summer, according to Globo Esporte. The report added that both clubs have agreed in principle to the move.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur continued their fight for the English Premier League (EPL) football title, while Manchester City and Manchester United were held to draws by their respective opponents on a busy Sunday at the top end of the Premier League standings.

Chelsea, who hold a four-point lead over second-placed Tottenham, tightened their hold on the top spot with a 3-0 road win against Everton at the Goodison Park. Chelsea need nine points to secure the EPL title during Antonio Conte's first season in charge. Everton remain seventh with 58 points.

English Premier League (EPL) leaders Chelsea defeated Southampton 4-2 at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday to boost their advantage over second-place Tottenham Hotspur to seven points, though Spurs have a game in hand.

Chelsea, energised by their 4-2 win over Spurs in last weekend's FA Cup semifinal, got two goals from Diego Costa, who had gone seven matches without scoring.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger enjoyed a rare good day at the office today, masterminding the Gunners' 2-1 win over Manchester City at Wembley, earning a third FA Cup final appearance in four years.

Speaking to the BBC after the game, Wenger said, "I am very pleased, it was a big game today. Overall it was a great performance not only technically but mentally. We became stronger and in the end deserved to win the game. The team performance was there. When the players give their best and are completely focused you always stand up for them. We were close to scoring and on the break they are very good. We lost the ball and conceded the goal but we showed the right response."
