The Wallabies will host Ireland in the first three-Test series ever played between the two nations in June next year. The three Tests will be played at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane (June 9), Melbourne’s AAMI Park (June 16) and Sydney’s Allianz Stadium (June 23).

The tour was announced as President of Ireland Michael D. Higgins visited the Australian Rugby headquarters at Moore Park, during his State Visit to Australia.

The Australian Diamonds have won the Constellation Cup series 4-0, after a dominant 16-goal victory over the New Zealand Silver Ferns. It is the first time since 2014 that the Diamonds have not lost a game during the annual series.

Australia’s Test squad will be reduced to 13 players following the three-day tour match against an ACT Invitational XI from 3-5 November, whilst a Twenty20 squad will be announced following the third ODI.

Speaking on the selection of the ODI and Test squads, National Selector Shawn Flegler said: “This was a really tough selection process for the Panel with some talented players missing out, but we’re confident we have selected a balanced side that has the potential to beat England and retain the Ashes.”

The Australian Diamonds have taken a 2-0 lead in the Constellation Cup, with an eight-goal victory over the Silver Ferns in Christchurch on Sunday afternoon. It took three and a half minutes for Susan Pettitt to shoot the Diamonds’ first goal, after Ferns started with two early turnovers.

Wallabies coach Michael Cheika has named an unchanged starting fifteen for Saturday night's (Sunday morning AEDT) clash with Argentina at Malvinas Argentinas Stadium in Mendoza.

It's the first time in 2017 that the Wallabies will run out with an unchanged starting fifteen, after Michael Cheika's side earned a 27-all draw with the Springbok in Bloemfontein last weekend.
