Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that his side had a good game against Monaco in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie between the sides, but that luck didn’t favour them. The Gunners won the match 2-0, but were eliminated from the competition on the away goals rule, having lost the first leg 3-1 at home.

The Frenchman congratulated Monaco for their win, whilst pointing out that his side are also on a positive run right now.

Arsenal travel to Monaco for the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 fixture tonight.

The first leg match between the sides at the Emirates Stadium late last month ended in a 3-1 victory for the French side, which in turn leaves the Gunners with the Herculean task of having to score 3 goals against one of the best defences in Europe to qualify for the next round.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has indicated that his side are not ready to give up on the Premier League title as yet, and that they will continue to challenge for it.

The Frenchman was quoted telling reporters ahead of his side’s Champions League round of 16 match against Monaco: "We are still too far from Chelsea, but will give everything to win our [league] games and come back as close as possible."

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that his side have ‘the desire and the belief’ to qualify for the next round of the Champions League, despite Monaco being in a very strong position right now. The French side won the first leg encounter between the sides, held at the Emirates Stadium, with a score of 3-1, and Arsenal will have to achieve the unprecedented to remain in the competition.

Wenger was quoted telling reporters ahead of the match: “Monaco are in a very strong position, but we have the experience, the desire and the belief we can do it - so let's give everything to do it. We have to show a different face, but you need to embrace the challenge.”

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that the side will be without the duo of Tomas Rosicky and Chuba Akpom, when they face Monaco in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.

While the veteran is out with an illness, the youngster has not been selected for the game by Wenger.

Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim has said that the side will not be taking their match against Arsenal lightly, despite having a 3-1 advantage from their last match at the Emirates Stadium.

Jardim was quoted telling reporters ahead of the game: “We will approach the game in the same way as other games [in this competition]. When you are facing a such a team as Arsenal, with players like [Danny] Welbeck, [Mesut] Özil and [Santi] Cazorla - it is true we cannot take it easy.”

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has sounded a warning to French side Monaco ahead of the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie between the sides.

The Gunners lost the first leg match 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium, and Ozil has said that the team are determined to win the second leg, and will fight from the first minute till the very end.
