Former Brazil international midfielder Jean scored two second half goals as Palmeiras edged closer to their first top-flight title since 1994 with a 2-1 victory over Figueirense. Rafael Silva netted late for the hosts but Palmeiras held on for their 19th win of the Brazilian Serie A campaign on Sunday evening.

The South African u17 Men’s National Team, Amajimbos, will face Brazil in the final of the inaugural BRICS u17 Football Cup this after Amajimbos defeated Russia 3-1 on Thursday, 13 October 2016 with goals from Lyle Foster, Mswati Mavuso and Luke Le Roux. The clash took place at the Bambolin Stadium in Goa, India.

Brazil and South Africa will face each other on Saturday, 15 October at 15h30. It will be played at the Fatorda Stadium, kicking off at 15h30 local time (12h00 SA time).

Brazil have jumped to the top of the South American zone (CONMEBOL) World Cup qualifying standings following a 2-0 away victory over Venezuela.

Manchester City-bound striker Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring at Estadio Metropolitano in Merida on Tuesday by chipping over goalkeeper Hernandez Santos after some poor defending byVenezuela in the eighth minute. Chelsea's Willian made it 2-0 just after halftime with a slick first-time finish following a Renato Augusto cross.

The South African u17 Men’s National Team, Amajimbos, suffered their first defeat of the BRICS u17 Football Cup, as they went down 3-0 to Brazil. The clash took place on Tuesday, 11 October 2016 at the Bambolin Stadium in Goa, India.

Amajimbos coach Molefi Ntseki made two changes to his starting line-up, opting for Tyreese Pillay and Sthembiso Kurata ahead of Sabelo Radebe and Ndamulelo Radzilani.

Brazil's national football team will face Venezuela on Tuesday in a South American World Cup qualifier for Russia 2018 without star player Neymar. Neymar received a one-match ban after being shown a second yellow card during the qualifier match against Bolivia on October 6, in which Brazil won 5-0.

Neymar left the Brazil camp after the match and is expected to return to his Spanish club Barcelona on Monday.

Santos and Brazil international midfielder Lucas Lima is considering a move to the next football season of the Chinese Super League. Lima's contract with Santos expires at the end of 2017 and the Brazilian club hopes to find a suitor for the 26-year-old soon to avoid him leaving on a free transfer, Sambafoot reported on Friday.

Hebei China Fortune are said to be leading the race to sign Lima at the end of the current Brazilian season in December. Bayern Munich, Napoli and Crystal Palace have also been linked to the player.

Neymar scored a goal and provided two assists to help Brazil to a 5-0 victory over Bolivia in their football World Cup qualifier in Natal. The Barcelona forward on Thursday struck in the 11th minute before setting up Filipe Luis and Gabriel Jesus with defence-splitting passes at Arena das Dunas.

Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho also found the net in the first half when he capitalised on clever build-up play by Giuliano, slotting a cool finish into the bottom corner.
