Liverpool thrashed West Ham United 4-0 in week 37 of English Premier League (EPL) action at the London Stadium, boosting its hopes of qualifying for the next edition of the Champions League.

English striker Daniel Sturridge opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 35th minute before Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho scored the second goal for the Reds at the 57-minute mark and scored again four minutes later on Sunday.

Borussia Dortmund chief coach Thomas Tuchel could be free to move on in the next few weeks. While Tuchel is facing a German Cup final against Eintracht Frankfurt in Berlin on May 27, rumours are that it could be his last game for the yellow-blacks, as the 43-year-old is said to be the hot favourite to replace Arsenal's incumbent Arsene Wenger.

According to media reports, Dortmund are interested in appointing Lucien Favre, the Swiss who is currently at OGC Nice.

Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud scored to lead Arsenal to a 2-0 victory over Southampton in the English Premier League (EPL) that puts the Gunners within three points of fourth-place Manchester City and within sniffing distance of Liverpool.

After a dull first half at St. Mary's Stadium on Wednesday, Sanchez received the ball in the area from Mesut Özil and blasted the ball past Saints goalkeeper Fraser Forster to put Arsenal 1-0 up in the 55th minute. The Chilean international became the first Arsenal player to score 20 EPL goals in one season since Robin van Persië posted 30 goals in 2011-12.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger feels that teams battling in Europe and domestically will find it difficult to win the coveted English Premier League (EPL) title.

With the nature of the EPL being physically tough, Wenger stated it will be difficult for teams involved in European tournaments and that he is eager to see how league leaders Chelsea respond next season.

After Manchester United's top-four hopes were damaged by a 0-2 defeat against Arsenal in English Premier League, United's head coach Jose Mourinho said his side have to chase the Champions League by winning the Europa League now. Granit Xhaka and Danny Welbeck scored in a 2-0 win for Arsenal on Sunday to leave United four points off the Champions League places.

This was Arsene Wenger's first competitive win over Mourinho.

Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho is set to rest a few first team footballers for Sunday's English Premier League game as the Europa League semi-final second leg against Celta Vigo is on the horizon.

United, who edged past Celta Vigo by a solitary Marcus Rashford goal in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday, are a place and five points ahead of Arsenal who have a game in hand.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur continued their fight for the English Premier League (EPL) football title, while Manchester City and Manchester United were held to draws by their respective opponents on a busy Sunday at the top end of the Premier League standings.

Chelsea, who hold a four-point lead over second-placed Tottenham, tightened their hold on the top spot with a 3-0 road win against Everton at the Goodison Park. Chelsea need nine points to secure the EPL title during Antonio Conte's first season in charge. Everton remain seventh with 58 points.
